m e l a n o p h o b i a (n) - fear of colour black
a pitch night sky
with no moon in lead
(the attribute of darkness)
a colour merged
of all the ones you can think
(it is the colour of grief)
a shade that dominates
my picture
(an aura of fear it brings)
it shows me my empty thoughts,
(the bottomless pits i'm in).
strung into beads
of the sweat that fall
woven into the night,
i can hear the beasts howl,
it is the dress i wear
as Death approaches.
how does one shade
say so many words?
similar to the poet's dead eyes
i look into.
it is the colour of my soul
and that is why i fear it.
