"Hey Malcolm wait up!" Drink in hand, I moved quickly towards Malcolm who had to look me up and down to confirm my identity.
"Melody what on earth are you doing here?" Malcolm asked with suprise and raised an eyebrow.
"It's good to see you too." I joked and then looked away shyly.
"I didn't mean it like that-."
"No it's all good. My mother's been sick so I came back to take care of her. I even got my old job at that bar back. Beileve it or not nobody has lived in my old apartment either."
Malcolm put a hand on my shoulder. "I'm really sorry about your mother."
"It's all good. I heard AC/DC is doing good.. sorry to hear about Bon though."
Malcolm, clearly discouraged by the subject of his former bandmates death, turned the converation to a subject that hit home for me. "Does Cliff know you're here?"
"No not yet. Look I better go but you can call me if you want to."
Cliff's number was tucked away in my car, and I was battling my emotions on whether or not to call him. Even though I'd rather forget it, the last time we saw eachother was when I kissed him after Angela's funeral.
But due to the fact that word would slip from Malcolm that I was back in town, I wouldn't be able to avoid the band forever. But of course I would try.
When I stepped into my old apartment, it felt like I was living my old life again; the spirits of my past friends would haunt me forever, leaving me with a smash and stash question of why I had been spared and they're all dead.
I remembered reading about Bon's death in the newspaper. I'm surprised I didn't cry, but I was still emotionally distressed. I made him a promise that I would see him again, but it just never happend.
