Living a New Life with Sam Pottorff

Chapter 8

POV: Sam

I walk back to my house and its been 3 hours since I left for Zoe's house. When I was walking back from her house before, I did see another car in the drive way. That car is gone and Mom's car is too. I decide to enter the house through the front door.

When I walked inside the house, the living room was a little bit messy. Just a couple pillows and a blanket thrown on the grown, not a huge mess. I put back the pillows and blanket and then went upstairs to my room.

I put my backpack down and I decided that I should probably pick up Levi from his "girlfriend's" house. The mom was very sweet, and totally understood that our mom was out on an errand and I was out too. Levi would not go home with me. He wanted to stay with this girl.... I bribed him with cake and we were on our way home. A few minutes after we get home, my mom calls.

"Sweetie, thanks for doing all of that. I'm coming back home with food and in normal clothing.... I hope you don't hate me and you had an good time at Zoe's," she says.
"Okay sounds good. I had a great time with Zoe and ditto for Levi," I say in response, and we hang up the phone.

Levi wanted cake, so we had to make cake. He wanted this crazy rainbow cake so we were on a mission to make it. We had red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple. We baked all of them and then let them cool. We needed to bake the cakes by color. We separated the colors in separate pans and then were able to back all of them. After they cooled we put them in order and frosted them. It look like a rainbow!

Mom came in just as we were finishing up frosting. Levi was very messy. He has icing all over his hands and on his face, he also had some flour on his shirt. Levi and I went up stairs to get ready for his bath while mom unpacked all of the groceries. She also wanted to go to a yoga class this afternoon (even though she already had some time to herself this morning).

Levi and I start the warm water for his bath. Levi helped me put in some bubbles and a rubber duck. He needed to wash his face before getting in the tub. We washed his face so all of the frosting was off and the water was at the perfect height. He hopped in and got to playing with his rubber duck. He seemed really happy. I went downstairs for a moment to see how my mom was doing.

"Hey mom, everything alright?" I ask her.
"Yeah. I just want to talk to you about what happen this morning," she said.
"Go ahead," I said.
"So I'm seeing this guy. His name is Todd. He is a very nice man. This morning he wanted to come over and to see the bedroom. He works in décor with his mom. He wanted to see what I've done with my room, and the house. He is my decorator. I knew something might happen so that's why Levi and I left notes in the two rooms. We started to make out and then we went into the bedroom. At first he was just looking but then it just happened. So I'm so sorry about this whole thing. He's thinking about moving in with us too," she says.
"Okay mom. I understand what might happen. You don't have to be sorry. I'm happy for you and this guy. I might be moving to New York for college in a year," I say. Then I walk back upstairs to the bathroom where Levi is.

Levi is playing with his rubber duck and with the bubbles. He is still super happy and didn't notice that I was gone for two minutes. I wash his hair and then he gets out of the bath. I dry him off with a towel and he puts on his clothes he was wearing earlier.

We go downstairs and cut the cake. Both of us really want to try the cake we made. Mom already went off to yoga and will be back in an hour. We have a tiny piece of cake and then I start to make some dinner. I was angel hair pasta with some turkey meatballs. I make it and it turns out very good! Mom is just getting back as soon as I get the meal ready. I fixed up some salad as well for some color.

Mom had dinner with Levi while I get ready to take Zoe out on our first date tonight! We are going to Je sables (it's French). I get ready and put on a nice suit to go pick up Zoe in. When Zoe walks out she is wearing a short dress with a gold sparkly top and the bottom is very big with tool. She is wearing heels too, and is still shorter than me.

We drive to the restaurant and get seated. We order and the food comes very quickly. The food was amazing. I loved the chicken a lot, and Zoe did too. I drop her off back at her house and eight and I got home too. I get home and I text Zoe saying "goodnight beautiful" and I go to bed.
