Was he ever human? Was it truly him? He couldn't tell, he didn't know. Afterall he was just a person put inside a machine's body. He didn't have a mouth or organs. He couldn't feel any pain... that is, until he met Loba.
He didn't know exactly why she was able to have that effect on him, but that didn't matter.
She saved him.

His new body felt weird, or perhaps, it was not new at all. He knew this body.
He had lived so long he despised the humans that made him like this. But he wasn't like that anymore. He was human.
Without even thinking he reached out to Loba, putting a hand to her cheek and feeling warmth for the first time. She was the one that somehow managed to restore his humanity, something he once long ago sought so desperately but gave up to.

"I don't understand-.."
"Thank you,"
Loba slowly moved his hand from her cheek, holding it in her hands almost in disbelief at how real he felt.
"Is this who you believed you were all this time?"
Revenant nodded.
"Do you have a name?"
He seemed lost in thought, unable to trace back to his real self. It was as if that part of him, his identity, was missing all along.
"I didn't know who I was before I became this killing machine. But now... Loba,"
In a new, gentle manner, he pulled her close to him, feeling the heat radiate from her body. It was something he never felt before. Something completely new and unique to him.

"Revenant," she kept her body completely still, not returning the hug but not pulling away either.
"Yes?"
"I do not forgive you for what you did to my parents," she paused "But I'm also starting to understand what you had to go through... and that you didn't have a choice,"
"I was the same before, I don't deserve your sympathy,"
"You may have been a famous hitman but you did not kill without reason. You were built to feel no remorse, if you weren't, you'd take your own life for the horrible crimes you've committed,"

"...You're right," Revenant slowly pulled away, slowly standing up and putting both of his hands on Loba's shoulders, staring right into her eyes.
"Then kill me, avenge all the souls that died in my hands, free the spirit of those who still cry because of the killings I did. Only then I'll know peace,"

Without saying anything, Loba pulled out her gun, she pointed it at Revenant and...
Bang.
The bullet flew behind him.
"I'm sparing a coward who escapes his actions by death. A coward who knows nothing of the pains he caused and yet speaks of it as if he has seen it for himself. If you want to redeem yourself, then bring yourself to work the ground, use that money you were given and donate it to the grown up orphan children you took the parents' life of. But dying? You think it's your death what we want? You're nothing but one of the many other machine,"
And with that, she put her pistol back and walked away, leaving Revenant in his dark corner.
