That was the day Loba joined the games. She would hunt down and finally kill the man, the machine that murdered her family on that very day.
She repressed it, she tried to forget it and build over it as much as she could. But that memory of hers wouldn't disappear no matter what. It fueled her with rage and hatred. She wanted him dead.
She easily made it on the list, she was chosen as the new legend, she regretted nothing. Of course... when she found out that there were plenty of artifacts hidden there, she had even more of a motive to join the games and loot whatever treasures she could find. The first few days were a blast, the other legends seemed to somewhat like her, although she didn't quite understand that mirage guy and what not. There were quite a few weirdos... another machine man but heavily more... robotic than the one she knew. Then there were Lifeline and Bangalore, a cute bunch. For some reason Wraith would look at her with pain in her eyes, although Loba couldn't quite tell why.
Then, it finally happened. The moment she found him. Revenant.
But not in the way she planned it.She didn't expect much from the team, probably wraith and Bangalore again, but no. It was bloodhound and him. That bastard.
Of course she couldn't give up now, she had to win the match. But how could she ever team up with the man that killed her parents? Calling him a man disgusted her even. He deserved nothing more than being called a monster.
The moment she landed she parted ways. She could move dynamically and she didn't need the team anyways, her findings were always of quality.
But then, as the game went on and more teams went down..."Enemies over there!" Damn it, it was a 3v1, that's unfair. She was hiding behind a boulder but for how much longer? It was only a matter of seconds and her shield cells were running low. She couldn't run away from this, no.
As she was about to turn around and face the enemies straight on, a sudden grenade was launched from behind her. A quick glance and she could tell who it was."Need some help little girl?"
This was not what she wanted at all.
Bloodhound got their sights from "allfather" and rushed in like an idiot between all the enemies. Needless to say the enemies took them down and Bloodhound left the game.
Now it was just the two of them against the three from the enemy team.
"Try to keep up," she said as she reloaded her gun.
"Only if you won't slow me down."
After a few throws of grenades they quickly engaged in combat with the last squad. Of course the enemies would try to evade them and attack them from different directions, but she was prepared for that.
Shot after shot she kept ducking and standing trying to dodge the bullets fired at her when the last person in the remaining squad ran away on their zip line, and then, a single shot and Revenant was down."Sh*t! Don't die on me idiot!"
Loba quickly sled her way to him, that was not good, he was out in the open and another squad was approaching. Thankfully they were busy with the last pathfinder from before, but it wouldn't take them long before they found them.
That's when she decided to break the rules a little. She took Revenant in her arms and threw her bracelet on top of a building, it thankfully teleported them both.
"I don't need your sympathy, demonio," She whispered as she applied first aid, his metallic hands brushed over hers for just a second. Loba felt a cold shiver down her spine as the reason as to why she entered the games came back to her.
"I will kill you next time." She mumbled.
"You can try."
"I'm going to, that's a promise."
"I'll be waiting then,"
If that soulless bastard could smile, he would have been smiling in that moment, but she didn't want to feed his ego even more. Loba got up and proceeded to loot for more ammo and shield. There was only one more squad left and they were looking for them.
