They often say that the kindest people are the ones who hurt the most inside. Raw pain always hidden behind a gleaming smile with the willingness to help others.
He always felt like that was one of his biggest flaws, but also his greatest strength.
Luka had always been kind to others, compassionate for their interests, protruding a smile whenever he could to hide his inner feelings. He always felt that was the best way to deal with the trauma.
The pain he experienced, no one knew about it. And for good reason.
How could one forget the agony that was afflicted upon his family all those years ago?
When no one was around, the young man would stare into emptiness, sometimes taking himself back to that haunting sterile setting, the smashed pieces of glass and broken furniture, the horrid putrid smell of alcohol and nicotine in the air.
The words that man cursed at him through the wind.
The tormented arguments between his mother and him.
The cries for help echoing throughout the empty apartment.
Luka found the diary he wrote in during that era, as a young little boy it was one of his ways to cope and express his feelings down as he was banned from playing any musical instruments near the person he used to call 'monster'. Afraid that someone would find it, he hid it. A part of him wanted to burn the book, yet he couldn't, he wanted to keep it as evidence for his ageing wounds. So he knew he wasn't going crazy.
Months later, his loving girlfriend accidentally found the diary as she was organising his room while he was out performing errands. Marinette knew that she shouldn't invade his privacy, however she also knew nothing of her boyfriend's past, he never liked to bring it up. The girl cared deeply for him, perhaps her reading this would help him open up? Her curiosity peaked, with the turning of the cover she began to read, only to be met with chaos and destruction.
