Upon the turning of the last page, she slowly closed the dreaded book. Shocked filled her veins with fire. Marinette's hands were trembling in upmost sorrow.

She was angry.

She was angry at all the abuse and mistreatment her boyfriend suffered. The torment he and his family endured. How could someone ever treat their family like that? That kind of lifestyle was completely unknown to Marinette. She grew up happy, able to express her desires and wants with no fear or judgement.

Oh Luka...

She desperately wanted to run to him, hold him and never let him go. To show him that he wasn't alone and will never be again. For him to know that he was forever loved.

Marinette's cheeks were wet as she cried throughout reading the diary. Her hand was over her sobbing mouth. She imagined all that the past self of the boy she loved described, the way his language got darker and more serious with each entry, the context behind the various child-like drawings, the meaning behind the poems he expressed. It broke her. Now she understood why the grown musician didn't feel comfortable talking about his past life. It was a life no one would want to remember or bring up again.

Even though the contents were full of sadness, she held the book as though she was embracing him. She was comforting his soul. She was going to fill his life only with love. She was never going to let anyone hurt him again, she was-

"Marinette...?"

The familiar voice snapped her back to reality as she panicked and glanced up at the doorway to the bedroom. A taller and grown up was Luka standing there with concern presented upon his features.

"Luka...?" She softly spoke.

He stepped forward, but ultimately froze when he laid his eyes on what his girlfriend was holding. The world stopping at that moment from his perspective. He began to stutter, his anxiety of the past crawling back to him.

"M-Mari? Wh-where did you find tha-?" Before he could finish the younger girl ran up to the taller boy and hugged him tight, afraid that something would happen to him, that he would disappear before her very eyes. He responded by wrapping his arms around her, happily reciprocating the hug. However, still worried about his girlfriend's discovery.

"I'm so sorry Luka. I read it all." She whispered in both shame and relief.

Luka wasn't angry, he could never be angry with Marinette. In fact, he imagined that she'd be angry at him. He felt the urge to just kiss her and tell her everything. But decided for Marinette to get it all out first, he knows she has more to say.

"I know why you never told me. I... I'm so sorry... I...You were hurt, and I couldn't be there for you, I..." She was about to break down again as she recalled all that she read. The girl desperate to show him her devotion and love, unlike his horrid father.

Luka held her tighter, a way to let her know everything was ok. That he was ok. He kissed her on the forehead and gently took her hand, leading her to sit on the bed.

"Let's sit down, you deserve an explanation." He gently said. Still in disbelief over what she found and his past now being exposed to her this soon.

No, she had to be told about it at some point. It wasn't fair to her. I... I have to be strong and recover from my past instead of ignoring it. He concluded.

"Oh Mari... do you want me to tell you everything? I didn't get to write everything in that diary at the time." He asked, his heartbeat speeding up.

Marinette gazed at her boyfriend with glossy eyes. "Yes. Please tell me everything Luka."
