The Argument

~Lizzie~

"What do you mean Jack has a new group?!" I yelled, running after Roger.

"It's pretty self explainatory, Lizzie. He has a new group. He's sick of Ralph's dumbass rules!" He snapped and ran off towards the big rock hill.

"I honestly can't believe it. He's lying! Why would Jack want to-" I was cut off by Ralph grabbing me by my shoulders.

"Lizzie, Jack hates me. He has since we first got to this island. You just never noticed." He explained.

"Well he doesn't hate me. I'm going to talk to him." I said and ran off in the direction Roger went. Ralph tried calling my name, but I wasn't going to turn around. I ran until I reached the top of the hill, where I saw Jack ordering almost the whole group to do diffferent things. "Jack." I called. He immediately stopped talking and turned to me.

"What do you want?" He snarled.

"I want to talk to you, in private." I replied, ignoring his snarky additude.

"Roger, continue to give the others orders, I need to talk to the girl." Jack ordered Roger, then proceded to pull me into this big cave. Well, it wasn't that big, but it was roomy. It was lit up by the light of the sun shining into the hole of the cave, and there was a small unlit firepit in the middle of the cave. "I'm going to make it look nicer. Maybe put some flat rocks in here and-"

"Cut the shit, Jack. Why did you do this?" I cut him off.

"Ralph was a terrible leader, he doesn't know how to lead a group! All he cared about was getting rescued and keeping the fire going! He didn't care about meat at all!"

"Well those are pretty much the most important things! Nobody cares about stupid meat, they want to get rescued! Killing a stupid fucking pig wont help us get rescued any quicker!" I exploded.

"Well we need to be fed properly! If you don't like the way I run things then get out!" He snapped.

"No! I wont get out until you give a reasonable explanation as to why the hell you can't just live with the fact that meat is the least of our worries right now!" I raised my voice, anger rising in my throat.

"Meat isn't the least of my worries, or the rest of the group's worries!"

"You're such a child, Jack! You don't care about getting rescued, all you care about is showing off your stupid fucking skills! You need to fucking grow up and smell the fucking roses, Jack, because they won't tell you that you need meat, they'll tell you that getting rescued is the most important thing going on!!!" I screamed.

"If I'm such a child then why do you like me? Or are you just sleeping around, hoping you can get into my pants?"

"You are a fucking hypocritical asshole! Do you really think I would do that? Roger has gotten into your head and ruined it! What happened to that sweet, funny guy I once knew?"

"He's right here! Open your fucking eyes, Lizzie! I'm right here, I haven't changed at all! Maybe you have, maybe it's you who changed! You're just like Ralph now! He's gotten to your head, and now you're exactly like him!" He yelled, pacing around the cave.

"What's wrong with Ralph?! He's sweet, and caring, and funny, and handsome, and everything that you fucking aren't!" I exploded. He stopped pacing and looked at me with this weird look in his eyes, a mix of anger, jealousy, sadness, and hatred.

"Why don't you go back to kindergarten and tell him that, then?" He narrowed his eyes, getting up in my face.

"Why don't you tell me why you changed?" I narrowed my eyes.

"I haven't, you have." He spat. "Where did that innocent girl go, the one that wouldn't dare let anyone call her 'pretty miss'? What about the fearless girl that climbed a tree with a broken leg just to get fruit? The wild girl who jumped around and screamed for joy, not caring at all what others thought of her? You've changed more than you think. You think it's me, but it's not. I admired you for your personality, Lizzie. And you don't have it anymore, so what am I supposed to admire you for?" He pushed me against the wall and jumped back, beginning to pace around again.

"Why did you come here? What do you want to know?" He asked, getting close to me again.

"What's the deal you made with Simon?" He sighed and ran a hand through his greasy hair. I then realized that I haven't had a shower in almost a month, if not longer.

"Not this again," He sighed. "He uh, he told me if I left and made another group, I could see you as much as I wanted, as long as I don't create a big argument throughout the whole group. It was pretty much Simon who told me to leave. He said if I didn't leave then I wouldn't be able to talk to you. I did it for you, Lizzie. Because I really like you, and I want to keep talking to you." He ran him figers along my bare shoulders where my cardigan used to be covering them.

I, I uh. I need to go. I have to talk to Simon." I stuttered and ran out the cave door. I sprinted down the rocky steps of the mountain and to the other camp, where Simon was sitting in the hot sand, talking quietly to Sam and Eric.

"I need to talk to you, alone." I stood in front of Simon, blocking the sun.

"What? Why?" He asked.

"Just come with me." I pulled him into the jungle and into a clearing, one that I don't usually go to, so nobody will interrupt us.

"What do you need to-"

"Now you listen here you little shit, don't tell Jack what to do, and don't you dare bring me into it!" I growled.

"Woah, what are you talking about?" He asked, his innocence showing.

"Don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about! Why would you tell Jack to leave! Why did you tell him that if he didn't, he wouldn't be able to talk to me?!?" I yelled.

"Because I didn't want him to hurt you! I've known him for years, and all he does is hurt people! I didn't actually think he'd do it! I thought he would just stop talking to you, but I guess he cares about you too much! I don't want him to hurt you because I'd never forgive myself!" He yelled angrily. I had to admit, seeing him angry actually impressed me, he never got this mad and it was pretty attractive.

"Well prepare to never forgive yourself, because I'm about to jump into the opportunity of getting hurt so bad, it'll make your teeth bleed just thinking about it!" I growled.

"What the hell are you talking about?" He asked.

"I'm joining Jack's group."
