Simon's POV
I gulped. Lizzie had to be with Jack, and I know for a fact that no good is to come to that. Ralph will kill me for leaving her by herself. I staggered over to Peter and he turned towards me, smiling. He stopped smiling as soon as he saw the worried look on my face.
'What's wrong Simon?' He asked.
'Lizzie. She's missing. So is Jack.' I answered. His face took up a look of worry and he shook his head.
'I didn't see them go anywhere. I saw Jack leave the group but that's it.' He noted.
'Okay, thanks.' I said and turned to leave. Just then Roger walked up and stood in front of me so I couldn't walk away. 'What?' I asked, clearly annoyed that he was there.
'Why don't you leave them alone shithead!' He commanded. I rolled my eyes.
'I refuse to let her be alone with that, that, that scoundrel!' I spat. His chest rumbled with laughter.
'Seriously? Scoundrel? That's all you got! Get outta here ya dumbass!' Roger howled. I huffed angrily and stomped off to the shore.
Jack's POV
'Are you sure we should be doing this?' Lizzie asked from beside me.
'Yes, it's perfectly safe. We'll be fine!' I answered.
'But what if Ralph finds out that I'm missing? He'll go apeshit!' She proclaimed.
'We'll be back by the time he gets to the shore, so don't worry about it.'
'But what if-'
'No what if's! We'll be back in time!' I concluded. She shook her head slowly and sighed loudly. 'What was that for?'
'I don't think we should be doing this.'
So now your on Ralph's side? Huh? Is that how it's gonna be? Well if you don't trust my judgement then go back to your precious Ralphie!' I spat. She looked taken aback, but she quickly composed herself and began speaking again.
'I don't think you have bad judgement, and I'm on your side!' She convinced.
'Then prove it.' I said simply. She stared into my eyes, a look of determination in them. Her eyes darted to my lips, then back to my eyes again. And then it happened.
Lizzie's POV
'Then prove it.' Jack spoke. My breathing hitched and I wondered what I could do. He wanted me on his side, and I will do anything I can to prove that I deserve to be there. I suddenly got it. It popped in my head like lightning striking a tree. My eyes darted to his lips, then back to his crystal blue eyes. I leaned in slowly and placed my soft lips on his. He reacted immediately and pressed his lips harder on mine. Our lips moved in sync, and I had the urge to run my fingers through his blonde hair. We both pulled away, breathless, panting for air.
'W-wow.' Jack stuttered breathlessly. I laughed slightly and he pulled me in for a hug. 'Lets do this again sometime.' He breathed. I nodded gleefully and pulled away from the hug.
'I got to get back, we've been gone for quite a while.' I announced. He nodded and I scrambled away.
I let the thought of kissing him register in my brain. I enjoyed it, a lot. But you didn't feel sparks! Who knows, I might never feel sparks. You know who you love and it's not Jack! But it might be! You know who it is, don't even try denying it! I don't even know what love is. Yes you do, you just try to convince yourself that you don't. I don't!
I was so busy arguing with myself that I didn't even realize I made it back to the shore. I hobbled into my usual spot, my leg starting to hurt again. I plopped down on the warm sand and immediately dug my fingers into it, digging a small hole. I started thinking. Thinking about how much I changed. I was such an innocent young girl when I got on this island, and now I'm this queer girl that's messed in the head all because of these boys. These boys. I never knew that I would ever be in the position of having to choose one and fight for them. I know that anything could happen to them on this island. They might die, they might hate me. Who knows. Nobody knows.
'Lizzie?' I heard a small voice ask. I looked up to see Peter peering down at me.
'Yeah?' I answered.
'Do you know where the chief is?'
'I'm sorry but I don't. Maybe Simon knows.' I inquired.
'He was looking for you and Jack earlier.'
'Oh shi-shat! I said shat! See you Peter!' I hurried, getting up and running over to a now quite angry looking Ralph and a very worried Simon.
'I-its my fault Ralph! I wasn't watching her and you know Jack, he can make anyone do anything!' Simon tried to convince Ralph.
'Where the hell did he take you?!?'
'Ralphie, I can explain.'
'Then explain!'
'I- He- He told me to follow him! I did.'
'Why?' He asked with so much interest that I got scared he might not be convinced by the truth.
'B-because I'm crazy! Okay? I'm absolutely crazy! I'm messed in the head and there's nothing you can do about it!' I wailed. He looked at me, clearly confused as to why I would call myself crazy.
'W-why would you call yourself that? What did you do that made you so crazy?' He stammered.
'I-I k-kissed him. I knew I didn't want to but I did! I did it to prove a point, and to learn who I really belong with.' I stuttered.
'Who do you belong with?' Simon questioned.
'I don't know yet, but I do know that it's not Jack.' I answered.
'Y-y-you k-kissed h-him? B-but-'
'I'm sorry alright!!! I didn't mean to hurt anyone! I just, wasn't thinking! I'm sorry!!!'I bellowed. I saw the hurt in Ralph's eyes and I knew then that Jack was right. Ralph liked me more than I thought. And I liked him more than I thought.
