Audrey's POV

Walking into the darkened dorm, I saw that Marisa hadn't moved from the position she was in this morning. Which was at 8 in the morning and it's now 11 at night.

"I'm back." I said shutting door quietly.

She only waved slightly as she kept her eyes glued to her lap top screen.

"I got you some pizza too." I said.

Again she kept her eyes glued to the screen but this time she stuck both her arms out like a small child asking to be picked up.

Rolling my eyes, I handed her the small box which she threw open and took a large slice of the pizza.

"Thank you." She mumbled.

Setting down my soccer bag, I walked into the bathroom and turned on the shower. Quickly I slipped out of my sweaty clothes and hopped into the steamed filled shower.

As the hot water poured down on me sore body, I looked down at my stomach and saw a large bruise had formed.

"Damn." I said touching it slightly before aloud banging came from the bathroom door.

"Hurry up. I have to pee!" Marisa said as I heard her bouncing slightly.

"Wait woman." I said back before I grabbed vanilla shampoo and lathered it in my blonde hair.

After washing it out I did the same with the vanilla scented conditioner before proceeding to wash that out as well.

"Audrey." I heard Marisa whin like a small child.

"Marisa I swear to the Virgin Mary I will smack you. Shut up and let me shower." I said sternly before I heard her groan before leaving the room, probably to find the dorm washrooms.

Quickly I shaved and washed my body with vanilla scented wash before washing it off and turning the shower off.

Grabbing a fluffy purple towel, I wrapped one tightly around my hair and body before stepping out of the shower.

Drying off I changed into shorts and a large tee shirt before removing the towel in my hair and letting it dry naturally.

Walking back out of the bathroom, I saw Marisa come back in looking disgusted.

"I swear I'm going to get diseased if I use those restrooms again." She said before she jumped onto her bed and wrapped tightly into a burrito in her blankets.

Looking at the digital clock on my phone I saw it was 12:30am so it would be ten something back home. So I decided to text Luke.

To Luke
Hey

From Luke
Hello love

To Luke
I miss you

From Luke
Don't worry. We'll see each other soon. But I miss you too

To Luke
Yeah. But I just wish you could visit. All of you guys.

From Luke
Same here. But I think Cal might be going down later this year to see Marisa.

Weird. Very weird.

To Luke
How come?

From Luke
A reason.

To Luke
Because that's helpful. Tell me!

From Luke
Well got to go. Duty calls. Love you bye.

Rolling my eyes, I shut off my phone before laying it next to me. I took a deep breath before something came to mind.

"Marisa?" I asked quietly incase she was asleep.

"Hm?" She hummed quietly.

"Do you still have the promise ring from Calum?" I said carefully.

"Yeah." I heard shuffling on her pillow meaning she nodded.

"But it's not on your finger." I pointed out.

"I didn't want to jam a finger so I put it on a silver chain." I hummed in understanding.

"And you guys still aren't dating?" I asked.

"No. Or at least I think. Mikey and Ashton keep referring to us as a couple so I don't even know." Just like when she told me, she still didn't sound 100% alright but not heartbroken either.

"As long as you're okay." I told her.

"I'll always be alright. That's a promise." She said tiredly.

Promises.

There only made to be broken.

That reminds me.

Silently, I got out of my warm bed and turned on my bedside table. I heard Marisa look up at me as I slid open the table drawer and pulled out the small box my mom gave me when leaving for college.

"What are you-" shushing her, I opened a box and instantly slammed my hand to my mouth once I saw what was inside.

The shiny gold encrusted pendants.

"Oh my god." I gasped as I felt tears prickle in my eyes.

"What is it?" I heard Marisa ask nervously.

"My dads military pendants." I said before setting the box down on the table and letting my self take all of this in.

Why would mom give me dads pendants?
