Chapter 8: Hard Times dont ever last

I never described the house on Buckley to you it was by far the nicest house me and mom stayed in. It was a new duplex that was built and mom kept the house in tip top shape. By then my real father had passed away and Reginald let's just say reginald was gone ( he went to jail nothing major just to much to go into detail) . So there I was in a nice house and things started to sink.

My mom is a hair stylist and hairstylists don't make a killing but she managed to pay the bills and to get me everything I needed. Things got even worse when mom was out of the job and things turned down hill. You ever have to live with the lights off. For about 3 days there where no lights in the house... Since my room was next to moms I would sit up late at night and listen to her cry through the walls, but all glory to god the lights where turned back on.

You won't know the true meaning of struggle until your water is turned off. For the longest we couldnt do the daily duties we needed to in the restroom. For about 2 weeks I couldn't take a bath. We had a good friend named Monte who lived two houses down who would allow us to take a bath over there.  Some days I would sit in my room and cry this built up my depression which effected me later on in my life.

Once again it felt like god was punishing my family for some odd reason. You ever shit outside? For the time the water was off I shitted outside for that whole time... I'm not ashamed to say it now but if you didn't know toilets won't work if you don't pay the water bill, but ya for the longest I would have to shit outside. It felt embarrassing and I felt as if I was a piece of shit and I felt homeless once again.

That all changed when aunt Vanessa paid for us to stay in a nice hotel for one night . that one night I felt free from all the trouble that went on. She also helped my mom by paying the light bill and water bill so we were on track to having a better life.
