This book is NOT a Naomi Campbell fan-fiction. I used the name Campbell because my friend wanted to be apart of it. After a few comments I found out there was a celebrity with the same name and she is CANCELLED. I would change it if I could but the book is already too far. Please don't let the name change your mind about this book.
Naomi laid flat on her stomach as a way to stop the hunger she was feeling. She held onto her stomach in hopes that the pain would go away.
After a few minutes of realizing that it will become no better, she started walking the streets. She was hoping to find any kind of food to help her.
All she had was seventy-five and cents and that could not buy anything but a lollipop.
She looked at her surroundings before walking towards the closest shop that she could see.
People stared at her in disgust as she made her way inside. Her clothes clung to her body and the shoes she wore were no more.
A sigh escaped her lips as she looked on the dollar aisle to find anything.
Once she realized everything was a dollar minimum she made her way back to the bench. She sat for a while as the tears fell from her eyes.
Naomi was in an orphanage until she turned eighteen years old. She worked as a waitress at a diner but she was fired when someone made a complaint against her.
Many others joined and agreed with the female who did it. The color of her skin only made the situation worse for her.
After she was fired no one was willing to hire her leaving her out on the streets. She tried reaching out to her birth family but once they recognized her they hung up the phone.
She knew she was a screw-up and many have told her that before spitting on her. Many times she thought of doing something bad so she could go prison. At least then she would be fed and allowed a decent shower.
She stared as many cars went by and people turn their heads the opposite way once they saw her.
It was almost nighttime and her surrounding was starting to become dark. People hurried to their cars once it started thundering, trying to beat the long traffic.
She sat in silence and the only thing that could be heard was the thunder and the growling of her stomach. She laid on the bench as it started pouring and people ran towards their cars. She placed the cardboard box over her body as the rain fell.
The raindrops mixed with her tears as she waited for it to stop. It would most likely stop tomorrow morning or later in the night.
She fells asleep curled up in a ball with a very hungry stomach.
Naomi slept silently but not peacefully. She always had a fear that someone would abduct her or assault her while she was sleeping.
She used her hair as a shield so the rain would not drench all of her face.
She was woken up by someone shaking her body. She quickly jumped up thinking the worse when she made contact with a very handsome man.
His suit was wet from the pouring rain and he had a worried look on his face.
"W-what?" she managed to stutter as her body began shivering due to the cold.
"Are you okay? Do you need any help?" the stranger asks removing his coat from his suit. He placed it on her shivering body as she stared at him wondering if she could trust him.
She looked at the familiar face that she saw many times of newspaper and even on a billboard.
"Thank you," she said with a small smile and he nodded.
Josiah stared at the stranger he stopped and helped. His mind and his consciousness would not allow him to leave her like that in the pouring rain.
"Are you homeless?" he asks the obvious question although he already knew the answer.
"Yeah" Naomi answered and looked down in embarrassment.
"You can stay at my guest house for the night" the words left his mouth before he could even focus on what he said.
She looked at him shocked for a moment and right when she was about to answer, she felt herself passing out.
Josiah acted quickly and caught her body before she could hit the ground. He pulled her closer and lifted her body bridal style and made his way to his car.
He placed her in the backseat although he knew the car would be soaked. He covered her with a blanket from the trunk that his mother placed in all his cars.
He started the drive to his house and also called the family doctor to meet him there.
He checked the rearview mirror a few times before looking back at the road.
Once he made it to his house, his maid Rosa was waiting for them with an umbrella.
"Is he here yet?" he asked about the doctor.
"sí señor" she answered and he nodded. He carefully took her upstairs towards the guestroom where the doctor was waiting.
Dr.Richards stared at the patient and the wet clothing she wore. Although she was unconscious her body was still shivering.
"Can you please change her clothing?" he asked Rosa before leaving the room with Josiah.
They stood outside the door and Dr. Richards starts talking about some of the things that could be wrong with her.
"Her body is very malnourished and she passed out due to exhaustion and dehydration. I also checked her temperature and she has a high fever" he says and Josiah processed the information.
"So what do you suggest?" he asks Dr, Richards who wrote some stuff on a piece of paper.
"I suggest vitamins and benecalorie to help her body overcome the malnutrition. By the looks of it, she is also underweight and that can become a health risk. She needs to drink at least five glasses of water and have all her meals" he finished before leaving.
Rosa came outside and told Josiah that she has woken up.
"Thank you, Rosa, If you don't mind can you please make her some chicken soup," he asks and she nodded with a smile.
Josiah walked into the room and saw Naomi sitting up in bed with her back against the headboard.
"Thank you," she told him as soon as she notices him.
"It's no problem," he says making his way towards her.
They sat in silence none of them saying anything until he finally broke the silence.
"The doctor did a check-up and also left a prescription of all the medicines you need. My maid, Rosa changed you and she is also preparing your soup" he finishes.
Naomi looks down her cheeks heating up. No one has ever seen her naked since the age of 5. Her body changed a lot over the years and she was embarrassed.
She could never keep up with all her needs, but she did her best.
"Thank you," she told him again with a smile, and this time he returned it.
Josiah sent a list of things he needed to his driver who happily obliged.
"You can take a shower in the bathroom. It is already filled with everything you will need" Josiah said before leaving.
If only they knew what fate had in store for them.
