Let's go for the adventure (I wasn't so joyful at this very moment)

I got up and I was ready to go when Leah stopped me.
« Do you even know where you’re going to ? »
I turned around and looked at her. I was terribly embarassed of being so dumb sometimes.
« No I don’t » I answered
« Come with me ! » she said « Kyle is an Hermes kid so I think we’re going to find him in Hermes Cabin »
I looked at her with an air that was saying « You weren’t in your cabin when I was searching for you ».
« I know what you’re going to say » she said before I could say anything « I wasn’t in my Cabin when you were searching for me. But Kyle is not like me he reaaly likes his Cabin and everytime I had to look for him he was there so let’s go ! »
So we went towards the Cabins. And guess what ? She was right. Kyle was there. We asked for him to come walk with us and went on a walk in the woods. I asked him if he wanted to come with us and he accepted (I hate when Leah is all good like that). I had my whole team ready to go. Maybe I wasn’t the best to do what I was suppose to but at least with this time I was well surrounded. Maybe we could do it. For the first time I started to believe that we could actually do it.
We spent the evening together and we got to know each other better. I learned that Leah and Kyle knew each other so well because they arrived at the Camp on the same day. They had gone through this ordeal together and they are friends from that moment. I also learned more about Kyle and Leah abilities. Kyle was able to magically sense the internal structure and mechanisms of any lock he touches and he could make it unlock. He was also able to identify curses and traps placed on locks and he can deactivate them if he concentrates hard enough. And as I already knew Leah had really good healing abilities and she was an incredibly good archer. She was also able to curse people to only speak in rhyming couplets for days or even weeks. When she said that I laughed so hard that I was sure that the entire Camp could hear me.
I was really happy and I was enjoying this time with them. I thought that it would be really cool and usefull to have them with me because I was pretty sure that Lamia wouldn’t let us enter her domain without any resistance. I was really well surrounded.
We spent all of the evening and a part of the night together. We learned to know each other better and enjoyed a moment with friends. Maybe the last one for a while.
The next day was the D-day. We were supposed to leave on this day. To prepare myself I had to go to see Chiron with Leah and Kyle. We met him at the Big House in the early morning.
« You wanted to see us » I said
« Yes ! » he answered « I have some advices for you »
I had guessed that he was supposed to give us advices and to wish us good luck so we immediately started talking about the upcoming events.
« While you were training I started to make some research to see if I could help you with the quest. I figured out that there is a spell that allow a sorcerer to locate another one. In fact it allows you to find the place where there is an unnatural amount of magic. I asked for Hecate’s son to do it and they achieved in finding the place where Lamia should be. There is an enormous amount of magic in Memphis and that’s not normal at all. »
« Which Memphis ? » Leah asked
« And can I do this spell myself if it becomes necessary ? » I added
« One question at a time ! » Chiron answered turning to Leah « Memphis in the Michigan » he then turned at me « You can try but I’m not sure it will work because it takes a lot of experience to achieve it »
« How do we go to Memphis ? » Kyle asked
« You can take three Pegasus with you. It would be the fastest and safiest way to travel I think »
« So we’re ready to go now ? » I asked
« You also have to be aware that Lamia is a powerful witch. She has years of experience in practicing magic and a great power. Don’t underestimate her ! It would be your last error. » Chrion said
I remained silent while I was thinking that he was very reassuring. He knew how to make people less anxious.
« I have one last thing to ask » he said « I asked Hecate’s son to strengthen our defenses with magical stuff just in case it was needed. Could you help them ? »
« Sure. I’ll do my best » I answered
I left my friends with Chiron to join the other wizards. We did our best to reinforce Camp’s defenses. We couldn’t have any impact on the normal barrier since itw as made by a God so we made another barrier. It wasn’t going to last long but it was protecting the Camp by now and that was enough. We also made some magical trap with the help of some people from Hephaestus Cabin. We knew that our magic wasn’t very strong because it was on the daylight but we had to do it. And if it was needed some of the wizards could redo or strengthen what we’ve done.
A moment after that Kyle and Leah came to take me to see our funeral shroud. Yes I know that’s creepy but it’s a tradition here. Anytime someone goes on a quest their siblings weave them a funeral shroud in case the camper does not survive. In my case I didn’t have any siblings but Hecate’s Cabin dit it for me. Lou felt that we were close enough for that because of our common relationship with magic and our link with her mother. I even slept in Hecate’s Cabin this week rather than in Hermes one which is the tradition for the non-claimed demigods (or mortals I guess) so yeah they were like a new family.
After seeing our funeral shroud we started to walk to the stables to find our pegasus.
« We can pick any Pegasus ? » I asked
« Sometimes a Pegasus chooses you » Leah answered « But most of the time yeah you just have to pick one but don’t be rude with them. They are pride animals »
When we arrived I immediately saw a Pegasus with a grey coat. He was so beautiful that I immediately wanted to pick him. Leah and Kyle have chosen theirs too. We went back outside and I looked at them.
« Ready to go ? » I asked
« As ready as possible » Kyle answered
« Of course we are ! » Leah added
We rode on our pegasus and set off for Memphis.
