Detective James and his assistant Bob are waiting outside in their Scorpio, a few feet away from the Snowdown mansion. They have been closely watching the mansion for a few days making sure they are not being spotted.

"Do you think it will do good for our case by waiting here?" Bob who was getting tired due to the skip of nights of sleep asks his superior.

"Let's see, the rat will surely fall into the catch." His superior assures him. Suddenly he noticed a taxi pulling over to the mansion and horning twice. And someone from the mansion opens the gate to greet the person inside the car.

"Isn't that Steve, their manservant?" Bob turns to the Detective who shushes him. They silently observed what was going on. A hand was extended towards the old man and a pearl bracelet adorned the soft wrists of the owner, indicating that the person was a woman. Steve handed a package wrapped in a paper to the lady. He bows to her and leaves into the mansion. The car drove away.

"Bob quick!!" Both the men started their vehicle to chase the taxi. They were successful in catching up to the car ahead of them, until they reached the traffic signal.

"Shit! We lost them." Bob slams the steering wheel in agitation.

"Don't worry Bob, we have the number of the taxi. Let me ask the local police to get the driver."

Bob comes into the office room after interogating the driver. He places the recorder on the table and throws himself into the chair.

"Tired?" Detective James asks, puffing his cigarette.

"Hella kind of. " Bob says loosening his tie. He undo the top few buttons of his shirt to let out his fatigue.

"So, how's the outcome?"

"Nothing useful sir. As per his statement, he picked her up from the street near La Tasty Restaurant. And dropped her next to the mall after stopping near the mansion."

"Hmm..." The Detective takes one more puff.

"Sir, I think we should arrest Steve. Only he can lead us into something useful."

"I know it Bob,but we got a problem. Miss Laura...she has been really cautious after the arrest of Gerald. So nothing can be done by entering into the mansion as our officials have interfered."

"Power of money and hold..." Bob sighs.

"Don't let your spirit down. We will certainly get our chance." Detective James assures him. "By the way Bob, you told me you have got some information related to William Snowdown...what was it?"

"Ah...about that sir, I happened to visit my dad's friend yesterday. He is a retired police officer. I just hinted him about Peter Cart case amid our conversation. He told me that William Snowdown had been once accused of comitting three murders."

"Really?" Detective James suddenly got interested and leans forward.

"Yes. He was in charge of the case at that time. It was like William Snowdown killed his partner, along with his wife and their six year old son. Their bodies were thrown into the sea."

"And then?"

"It created a mass stir in the public and the media. But he was later acquitted, thanks to the hold he had in the department."

"Didn't any of his partner's family go for an appeal case?"

"I guess not. Nothing has been recorded about them in the reports. Maybe they were afraid to."

"So...there are a lot of mysteries lingering around Snowdown family, really dirty ones." The detective smirks and puts the butt of his cigarette in the ash tray.
