Chapter 19

Flashback*

William Snowdown arrived frantically into his office. His agitation caused him to throw all his things from the desk. His daughter was really terrified seeing her dad acting strange.

"Dad? Everything fine?" she inquired. William took out a cigar from his pocket and lighted it. He took two-three puffs from the cigar and turning to his daughter said, "Laura, I am signing the will to write all my properties in your name. Please brew some coffee for me." 

"Dad, why so sudden? What happened?" Laura was getting impatient. William takes the seat and looking sternly at her, said, "Your uncles and aunts have decided to kill me. Robert, that bastard, he wants to make it a natural death."

"What you mean? How come they...who told you so?" 

"Peter. They tried to buy my close associate. But poor fellows, they never know that I have tricked them into my trap. Peter is my man and he wouldnt accept a fifty lakhs sum without consulting me." William smirks and then he realizes he was making Laura uncomfortable, "Don't crack your head honey. Brew some coffee for dad."

With that he signed the will and kept it aside. He opened his computer to save the digital copy of the same while Laura brewed some coffee. After some time, she brought it to him. Taking two sips from the drink, he exclaimed, "Everything set. Now all I have to do is to deal those ruthless cheaters."

"What do you plan to do?"

"You need not know it. Knowing too much can invite troubles." He winks at her taking few more sips. 

"Yeah, maybe they would meet the same fate just like Gerald's family, am I right?" Laura landed. William almost choked his coffee. Wiping his mouth, he asked, "What do you mean?"

"I meant what I said. You must have not forgotten killing you co partner and his family. Tough luck dad, you spared Gerald." 

"Gerald...he is Fedrick's son? Fuck! He has come to take revenge on us. I should have been careful."

"Revenge on you dad, actually not him alone... we have come to take revenge on you!"  

"What's with all this bloody nonsense Laura?" William tries to get up but he couldn't move. His body was kind of paralysed. He tried to get up exerting much force, but in vain.

"Don't bother sir, you cannot. The drug has already started showing the symptoms." Suddenly Gerald appears from the door.

"What you mean? What have you both done to me?" William stares at Gerald and his daughter, trying yet another futile attempt to get up.

"Relax dad, it won't last. Soon you will have a cardiac arrest. Getting agitated will only rush the poison through your blood vessels.Thanks to Uncle Robert, his poisoned coffee beans made it easier." 

"Why did you? To your dad.." William looks at his daughter helpless.

"Dad? Ah..yes my dad. But what was I for you?"

"My daughter Laura..." 

"No..I was your toy..your FUCKING TOY!!! " Laura screamed at him." Don't you remember the times after mom left us, you raped a little girl? Don't you remember her crying in pain? Yet you ignored the pleadings of a five year old child!!"

"Laura..it was a mistake on my part. I shall apologize but don't kill me." 

"Yes it was a grave mistake. Wait..you have also forced me to do one...When I was fifteen..I killed our baby.Your baby that was growing in me. And you dared to call it a mistake..Pathetic!"

"Laura...please.."

"No sir, it's too late. We cannot help you." Gerald said. " You shouldn't have hurt my parents...you shouldnt have raped your child..you must pay for your deeds!"

Soon William was having difficulty to breathe. He slowly started to become unconscious," Please..save...me" He attempted to utter a few words. 

"I am dad, have a safe journey!"With that Laura and Gerald leaves the office.

Flashback ends*

Laura pours another glass of wine and takes a sip. She was happy, very happy. The happiness one experiences after all the turmoils and pains. Indeed Justice was served, served to the right ones.
