"Babe, let me get going." Gerald tenderly kisses Laura as he prepares to leave the house for the meeting with his client. As he descends down the steps, a police car stops in front of the Snowdown Residence. Two police officers in their uniform get down.
"Mr Gerald Mckawney?" One of them asks him.
"Yes, it's me."
"You are coming with us."
"What's the matter, officer?" Laura intervenes.
"Sorry miss, we are following the orders. We have been asked to take Mr. Mckawney into custody related to Peter Cart Murder Case."
"What on earth are you talking about? I have a meeting with an important client and I can't miss it."
"You need to come with us, I hope you fucking heard that!" One of the cops gets annoyed.
When Gerald protested, the other officer handcuffs him and takes him to the police car.
At the Police Headquarters
Gerald sits with his head down in a dimly lit room of the police station. He is annoyed and tensed at the quick turn of events. Suddenly the door to the room opens and Detective James enters along with Bob.
He pulls out the chair and sits opposite to Gerald.
"How is it going Gerald? Nice to meet you again." He says friendly .
"I don't have time to waste for your useless pleasantries. Why the fucking hell did you bring me?"
"Ah...that was rude. Well we need to clarify certain things from you."
"Then go ahead...I am done sitting in this dump!"
"Fine we will as long as your ready but...on one rule."
"And that is?" Gerald looks suspiciously at the man sitting in front of him.
"It's simple, Speak the truth!" he landed.
"Okay."
"That's cool...so...Gerald, how was your relation with Peter Cart?"
"Pretty worse." He smirked.
"Why?"
"Because Mr William was against the relationship of Laura with me. And there were times this old Peter Cart tried to harm me, so that I would back out."
"Then?"
"I had him properly taught not to mess with me. A warning from Laura as well was all enough to stop them."
"Did William ever accepted you?"
"I guess not. Actually I did not care as long as I love her."
"Have you ever wished to hurt either of them?"
"Ha...I understand where you are coming to Detective. You want to get me framed, right? Something any nasty officer wouldn't mind to do."
"How dare you..." Bob punched Gerald on his face. Detective James gets up from his seat pushing Bob away and scolds him, "Bob! This isn't a ring."
He offers a tissue to Gerald who takes it to wipe the blood coming from his lips. Detective James sits on the table and bents down to get a close view of the man.
"Gerald, why did you meet Mr Cart before he went missing at his house?" He asks prying into those shivering dilated pupils.
He looks at Detective James. The cool and composed Gerald seems to get tensed.
"I did not."
"Careful, I have already warned you... to speak the truth." He takes the remote in his hands and presses the play button. On the projector screen was a CCTV capture of two men talking, one Mr Peter Cart and another Mr. Gerald Mckawney.
