Smoke and fire boiled up from where the bullets and bombs went off. Helicopters and borgs surrounding the camp as people were screaming, scattering everywhere while trying to cover themselves. "Go! Go! Keep moving! Keep Moving!" Her heart was pounding and she could feel blood rushing towards her ears. Her eyes wandered around, looking at the complete chaos.
We just can't stop getting into trouble.
His grip tightened around her wrist and pulled her towards him as they began to run. She heard a child let out a hurdling scream behind her. Her teeth clenched together as she fought back the tears, knowing they got to keep running.
But the child.
She turned around and saw the child, bringing his knees closer to his chest, trying to stop the pain. Her eyes traveled to the guard coming closer towards him. "Don't come closer! Please!" The little boy cried out, trying to back away with all the strength remaining in him. Her hand slowly turned into a fist and her knuckle turned white. Anger boiled inside of her veins and it churned, hungry for destruction. The anger from her eyes showed pain as memories flooded into her head. The beating, testing, getting electrified.
Screw it.
Y/n soon came to a halt as Newt looked at her. "Come on, we have to keep--"
"I..I have to save that child, Newt." She fought his tight grip around her which didn't budge.
"You are shucking kidding me. I'm not letting you go out there." His voice slightly cracked and she could see how frustrated he looked. Before thinking twice, she elbowed him in the gut. His grip loosened and he clenched his stomach. Y/n gave a sympathetic look.
I'm so sorry, Newt.
She ran towards the collapsed child. Before the guard could shoot again, her hands grasped around the end of the gun and quickly pushed it up towards the sky. She turned her head around and gave a weak smile towards the child. "Run!" She struggled to keep the gun pointed at the sky. Sweat covered her forehead and her hands. Everything looked blurry to her. She quickly kneed him in the groin and swiftly aimed for his neck. In the matter of seconds, the guard collapsed as she grabbed hold of the soulless clunk of metal.
"Sweet." Y/n mumbled under her breath. Her aims were flawless, but she flinched every time she pulled the trigger. She never liked using guns. Another explosion erupted which sent her flying to the ground. She let out a painful cough as she could taste her own blood. Dirt was smeared all over her face.
Come on, Y/n. Get up!
Her arms pushed against the ground and she hissed. Cuts and bruises were everywhere on her body. She clutched onto her side.
Broken ribs.
It was getting hard for her to breathe because of the smoke, but her adrenaline kept running.
Newt. I got to find him. I got to pull myself together.
With all her strength, she picked herself up. The more she moved around, the more tough it was for her to breath. "Newt!" She yelled as she limped. She licked her dried lips, clenching tighter around her side.
"Y/n."
"Teresa." There she was, standing before Y/n, completely fine and not harmed while she had a guard with her.
"Y/n, drop the gun." Teresa pleaded.
A smug smile slowly appeared on Y/n's face. "Oh, this little thing?" She raised the gun towards the guard.
"I promise to explain everything later, so drop the gun."
"Aw, but I barely had any fun with it." She quickly pulled the trigger towards the guard. "Does it feel nice?" She slowly took steps towards Teresa, holding back tears.
"Does it feel nice betraying us?" She asked again, but this time grasping onto Teresa's collar. Her grip tightened as she yelled at her. "How does it feel!"
"I had no choice!" Teresa gasped for air. Before Y/n can respond to anything, pain erupted all over her body as she released her grips. "Janson."
"Teresa! Are you alright?" He rushed towards her. Guards followed his lead. "Tie her and bring her where the others are gathered."
Y/n made eye contacts with Teresa one last time before getting dragged away. Tears escaped and fell down her cheeks. All the memories they shared back in the glade and even before that experiment, crumbled away.
"I'm sorry, Y/n."
