"Greetings, Moonpaw." Windstar meowed to Moonpaw, as Moonpaw dipped her head respectfully. Eaglestrike emerged mist to her.

"Greetings." Eaglestike meowed, as Moonpaw dipped her head once again to the former Windstar deputy. She waited for the next confusing sentence that was going to hear, excited but curious. She wondered if maybe she wasn't the only one that received messages from Starclan.

"Look." The grey misty warrior meowed, as she slid her paw through the puddle of water. She took a paw-step or two closer to the water. The water slowly turned into the straem, as she saw saw blood spill across it, spreading like a fire to four clans. The vision turned away, back into the spiritual water that was always there.

"Blood? " Was I in danger? Moonpaw thought. She stared into the eyes of the two misty cats.

"Not yet." Windstar replied as if he had just read Moonpaw's mind. Not yet? What did that mean? "Just focus on being the best warrior you can be until everything becomes clear." That's quite hard when you are bothing me in my sleep! Moonpaw wanted to yowl at the Starclan cats but she fought back her words. She slowly sliped back into the safety of her own nest. She opened her eyes to find dawn calling awake to her. She stretched her legs and padded her way into the clearing, mind full of wonder.

She padded over to the fresh-kill pile, looking at it there was only a shrew and a small mouse that was left over from yesterday. She turned away from it, scanning the busy dawn clearing for a sign of her mentor, which she did every morning.

She spotted the white fur warrior sitting under the Sun Rock, clearly thinking about something. Moonpaw padded over to Warrior, ready for her training.

"What are we doing today?" She meowed, snapping Cloudheart out of his thoughts.

"I thought you may want to go on a partol." Cloudheart meowed to her. As soon as the word partol was meowed out, she was about to go leaping out of the entrance. She felt like she could run around the border of Sunclan five times without a break. The only thing that stopped her was Cloudheart. "And afterwards we can get a tour of the territory. But you have to promise me you will do apprentice duties next Sunrise." Moonpaw's tail imedently lowered.

"Fine." She grunted out.

"Great! Let's go then!" Cloudheart meowed happily. Suddently patrols didn't seem so exciting if she had to do ticks after them everytime. And mouse bile. Bleh. She didn't want to complain, but she really hated the taste of it.

"...and Dawn patrol: Heatherfur, Rainfrost, Cloudheart, Moonpaw and leading Willowsnow." She padded over to the patrol with her mentor, though groups of patroling cats about to head off. Her excitement showed though her eyes, and her tail was held up and high while they entered the patrol.

"Let's leave." Willowsnow meowed while leading the patrol over to the entrace of the camp and headed off in the forest. She walked along the forest floor, twigs cracking underneath her, as she wondered her eyes around the forest, looking at trees and bushes. Her paws slightly jumped as she walked along.

"Don't shake the ground so much! You're going to scare away all the prey." Snapped Rainfrost.

"Sorry." Moonpaw meowed apologetically. She lightened her paw steps and moved on.

The Dawn Patrol made their way to the border of Waterclan. She scented the mixed scents of the two clan cats, one fishy, one more forest like. All she knew is she didn't like it.

"Let's refresh marks. It smells stale." Willowsnow directed. Stale? How insensitive where these older cat's noes! Moonpaw watched as Willowsnow added her scent to the border. They walked onto the next mark.

"Why don't you try?" Cloudheart asked the young apprentice. Moonpaw nodded and left her scent at the edge of the border. As the patrol moved along the Waterclan border, Moonpaw tried to remember each and every scent mark.

She padded and marked the Breezeclan and Cloudclan boarders. The patrol padded back to the camp and with a flick of the tail, the patrol separated. Moonpaw watched as Willowsnow reported to Skylight, and headed with her mentor. Her mentor looked at the fresh-kill pile. The Hunting patrol stocked it up, but it wasn't full.

"I'm going to send another hunting patrol." Moonpaw heard Skylight tell Swifstar.

"Go pick a piece of prey, then meet me and Hawkfeather." Moonpaw's mentor meowed. Was Blackpaw coming? Moonpaw nodded and headed to the freshkill pile to pick prey.

"Hunting Patrol: Bagerheart, Leafclaw, Hailfall and leading Onefoot." She heard the Deputy shout as Moonpaw picked a mouse for Mottledapple. She realised she haden't eaten today.

"A mouse for you." Moonpaw meowed as she dropped the prey in front of the elder. The elder flicked her tail as a thanks and Moonpaw padded out, leaving the prey to be eaten. Moonpaw picked a small shrew for herself, so that she would not have to share and have some peace.

Sunhigh called Moonpaw, it was time to train, and to tour the territory. She trotted over to Cloudheart and Hawkfeather. She saw Blackpaw standing next to Hawkfeather. He was coming after all!

"Let's leave." Hawkfeather meowed and the apprentices followed into the forest, ready to remember every tree and every bush. The cats rushed into the forest, running together, deeper and deeper into the forest. Moonpaw was ready to see everything.
