Per Impa's request, Akkami stayed at Kakariko. During those days, she spent most of her time running errands, goofing off with Purah and helping her research the cores.
On the first day, She stopped by Robbie's house and he examined Akkami's ancient weapons. She had 3 pieces of ancient technology: the first was a double bladed staff, basically a modified guardian spear that was found during Sheikah tech excavation years ago. She also had an ancient shield which was given to her by Impa, but she never really used it. Partly because she used a two handed weapon so she couldn't even use the shield in combat, and partly because her last piece of tech was a replacement.
Akkami's parents had been ancient Sheikah tech researchers, like Robbie and Purah, however, they had perished in the Calamity. Akkami's favorite piece of tech was developed and built by her mother: ancient gauntlets. They were cuffs of ancient technology that she wore around her forearms. The gauntlets glowed with blue and orange designs and emitted a faint force field around her arms which deflected attacks, like a smaller shield. But when knocked together, the gauntlets discharged a force field pulse that could knock out enemies, and when timed right, parry guardian lasers.
"Looks like your staff has a couple loose screws. I can fix it up for you easy. Just sit tight until tomorrow." Robbie said after looking at her gear. "The shield is STILL unused..." he raised an eyebrow at her. "And I won't touch your gauntlets. Don't fix anything that isn't broken." He said as he passed her things back to her.
"Thanks, Robbie."
"When was the last time I fixed your staff? A month or two ago was it?"
She nodded. "A month."
"How many guardians do you kill to wear down your weapon this much?" He laughed "I even improved it's durability!"
You'd be surprised how many are out there. She thought to herself. I don't even know how many I've killed.
She thanked Robbie and left for the armor shop to replace her clothes, which were so burnt and muddy she didn't even think it had color anymore. She perused the selection. They had the usual Sheikah stealth suit, which wasn't very protective so that was a no. She chose the clothes with the most defense, the Hylian set. The cashier was named Juno. Akkami replaced her clothes so often that they had become acquaintances. She set the clothes on the counter.
"JUST the normal Hylian set?" Juno scoffed. "No no no. This is SO last season." She said and shoved the clothes off the counter.
"Wha- hey!" Akkami protested. "I wanted to buy that! You're a really bad salesperson, you know. Do you WANT my money?" She teased.
Juno smirked. "Some scouters came back with a boatload of fireflowers which they gave to me for free!" She squealed and pulled out a folded set of clothes from under the counter.
"I was experimenting with the effects and boom!" She unfolded the clothes. "A protective Hylian set AND it's fire-resistant! It's my best work!"
She held up a navy blue Hylian tunic, then brought out matching black boots and a hood. "I made it with you in mind." She said looking at Akkami's dirty clothes.
"I can't thank you enough." Akkami said as she handed her the rupees.
"For sure! But remember, even though it resists fire, it doesn't have a flame guard. So don't go to Death Mountain in those." Juno added.
She nodded earnestly and left the shop.
The rest of the day was uneventful. She put on her new clothes and wandered around the village. Her visits to Kakariko were always quick, as she was anxious to get back out there and hunt down guardians. She had forgotten how beautiful the village was, with the knobbly trees, cute pumpkin patches and plum gardens. Though, as she walked through the town, people watched her wearily, as if she were scary or something. She couldn't really tell.
