"It's our only choice!" Keenan yelled angrily, slamming his fist down on the table. "The longer we wait around, the sooner the citadel will be attacked. We need to act NOW."

"No! Sit down, Keenan." Said Devan. "I'm not changing my mind."

"You don't understand the weight of this decision! This is the reason why we were called here! To HELP the Citadel! And you're just going to do nothing?"

"Enough!" Impa said, throwing her arms up. But both Keenan and Devan ignored her and kept arguing.

Akkami sighed. The meeting had started an hour ago, and there was already a disagreement. Keenan was fully convinced that the Fort Hateno battalion should go to Akkala Citadel and fight to the last man. Devan had immediately protested against it and they were still fighting. Tired of watching their squabbling, she turned to Impa, who was staring at the battle map, thinking hard, occasionally glaring at the two men shouting. Granoli was trying to mediate the argument, but neither of them paid him any attention. Unfortunately Purah and Robbie weren't attending the meeting, as they had to work on their research.

Finally, Akkami stood up and pushed Devan and Keenan apart. "Stop it, please! Calm down, both of you!"

Both guys stopped in surprise. "Don't push me, girl." Keenan growled and sunk back in his seat.

She took a deep breath. "Keenan, I understand where you're coming from. The Citadel is supposed to be Hyrule's strongest line of defense, and if it is overrun, that would be a disaster."

Keenan nodded vigorously and pointed to the battle map. "Not to mention, all those enemies en route to the citadel will most certainly start to attack other villages." He glanced towards Devan. "Including Hateno."

"Even if we do go to help, what could we do?" Devan said. "We are hopelessly outnumbered, even combined with the citadel forces. What difference does 60 soldiers make?"

"Especially with the guardians. They are even more dangerous in packs." Akkami added. "Constant laser explosions, countless deaths. An army of soldiers are no match for an army of guardians."

Impa looked glumly at the room. "Then it is doomed."

They all sat in silence. It even seemed Keenan had accepted defeat.

Then, Devan slowly stood up. "Hang on..." he said, eyeing the map. "Impa, you said... the enemies haven't reached Akkala yet?"

Impa nodded. "All the enemy sightings. They're all marked on the map."

"I think I have an idea." He said. "The Hateno battalion will go to Akkala Citadel."

"Yes!" Keenan exclaimed. "You've come to your senses then?"

What?! Akkami thought furiously. Has he gone crazy?

"However, we won't only fight at the citadel itself. We'll take the long road." He pointed to the enemy encampments. "On the way, we'll attack the enemies moving towards Akkala. Monsters travel in packs and camp out. We can attack them individually. It will be much safer, rather than being overwhelmed. Plus, we'd have the element of surprise."

Wow. That's actually kind of a good idea. Maybe this kid is a keen strategist like Impa said.

Devan pursed his lips. "But I'm not sure about the guardians. None of my soldiers, myself included, has ever come close to killing a guardian."

"I can defeat them." Akkami volunteered.

Impa looked very impressed. "This just might work."

But Granoli grabbed Devan's arm. "Commander, are you prepared to send the battalion away and leave our post at Fort Hateno to undergo this mission?"
