❝ All I wanted was to have at least one friend, but he was too cruel... ❞

Year 2017, College Freshman Years
Pretty much like mirroring the expressions both Moon Bin and I were wearing, Dongmin also sent us a confused look.
Upon coming to an agreement that we'd use the remaining time before the opening as a chance to catch up and clear things up between the three of us, Dongmin had led us to one of the benches beside both our department's meeting place.
"You're really Ms. Steamed b-"
Before Dongmin could even finish what he was saying, Moon Bin had covered his mouth and pushed the male around to face the other side. "Small world, I guess." Moon Bin cleared his throat, sending Dongmin a death glare as their eyes met.
I didn't reply to what he said, I simply laid my back against the bench. It may have been years since we last saw each other, but his words were still vividly etched into my brain.
"Look... I'm sorry for whatever I said, clearly, I don't even know what I was saying back then."
"Lies!" Dongmin butted in, walking towards my side of the bench.
"Shut up, Dongmin." Moon Bin groaned, pulling the other back to his side.
"It has been said, no matter what additional things you say now, won't heal the damage that has been done." I replied, followed by a long sigh that clearly disappointed the two as well.
"As for you." I called out towards Dongmin who pointed at himself in disbelief. "I thought we were friends!" I grumbled, kicking his leg unexpectedly harsher than I thought.
"I'm sorry!" He exclaimed, rubbing the part of his leg where my foot made contact with. "Do you guys know how painful it was for me to see someone I trusted leaving me hanging just like that?" I scoffed, standing up when I caught glimpse of one of our seniors calling out for us.
Without giving the two any more glances, I walked straight towards the other freshmen and did my best to avoid Moon Bin for the whole day.
I've always been mindful that first days are important, no matter what grade or place it was but I never expected a "Frosh Party" as the seniors named it to be very exhausting.
Many activities were held to help crack the tension before the academic year was held and though I am not much of a party person, I must admit that I did enjoy the presence of the people in my department.
However, coming to the conclusion that I probably needed some air before I headed home, I sat down the same bench the three of us were staying at awhile ago. My head instinctively fell against the bench as I stared up at the night sky.
'I should probably call Sanha to pick me up...'
I thought, fishing for my phone, only to grunt as I realized that my phone had died. I never really had this much fun before that I wanted to take a video of the whole Grand Opening which also sadly drained my phone's battery.
"Sanha..." I whined, hoping that telepathy worked between cousins but no matter how much I tried calling for my behemoth of a cousin, no Yoon Sanha appeared in front of me.
"If you knew that you couldn't drink that much, why did you take the challenge?" A familiar voice questioned, sitting beside me.
"Go away, Anna..." I grumbled, closing my eyes as I made myself comfortable on the bench. I know I wouldn't be able to walk home anyways.
"All she wanted was a bonding time with her sister, don't be too mean." He replied with a quiet chuckle.
"All I wanted was to have at least one friend, but he was too cruel..." I retorted, letting a soft sob out as I turned to look at the male beside me. "Don't I at least deserve a friend, Dongmin?"
He didn't reply for awhile before he stood up and took hold of my wrist, tugging me up. "Let's get you home, Ms. Steamed Bun." He quietly stated.

The next morning, I woke up with a very bad hangover. I couldn't even sit properly or bring the spoon up to my lips without spilling some over my room's carpet. And the fact that my cousin was with me at an early time, continuously rumbling about something that I don't even remember isn't helping either.
"But what's really weird is that he knew your address! Do you have a secret boyfriend or something, Noona?" He asked, making me spit the warm soup on his face.
Sanha screamed in disgust and pain, grabbing the cold pitcher of water, he poured it onto the place where the warm soup had landed. "Yah! You're making a mess!" I whined, glaring at the younger male. "You spitted warm soup on my face! That's disgusting and it stings!" He complained back as he rubbed his face with his shirt.
"Sanha..." I cried out, throwing a towel at him before leaning my head down the table. He took the towel and properly dried his face and fringe before tapping on the table to catch my attention.
"You should thank the kind man though... Why didn't you even call me to pick you up?" He asked before standing up with the now empty tray of the food he brought me. "My phone died and as much as I want to thank whoever he is, I don't even remember." I mumbled, shooing the scowling younger male so that I could catch up on a little bit of sleep before heading to my morning classes.
