Finally,work day was over and Sara felt she could breathe easily again.She hated working on fucking Saturdays.It was the worst possible nightmare sometimes. Especially in winters.

"You're finally heeree" Vee greeted Michael and Sara when they entered the kitchen of the house. After everything with Fox River Linc was given money from the government as a 'we are sorry we almost put you on an electric chair and killed you because of some manipulative blonde bitch that made it look like you killed her brother' and he bought a small house for him Vee and LJ to live in.Pretty amazing he could of said.
"I got the beer" Michael laughed a bit,remembering how Vee talked both Linc's and his ears off not to forget the beer.
"Oh,my.You must be Sara. Michael,you were right,she is gooorgegouss" Veronica smiled warmly and went to hug the doc which she quickly returned.Sara hadnt been there even five minutes and she was already liking this family.This woman seemed so pure,she could see it in her eyes.
"Sara,this is Vee,Linc's girl" Michael introduced the two women and couldn't help but grin at how fast they were bonding.And of course Vee had to embarrass him and expose how he rants about Sara 24/7.
"Its pleasure to meet you" Sara replied warmly when they parted.Her foolishness for thinking this was a girlfriend to Mike slapped her in the face and she felt bad but when Michael grabbed her hand in his she felt the calm oozing over her again as their fingers entertwined.
"Pleasure is all mine.Mike has never brought a woman hom-"
"Vee,please, don't embarrass me further" Mike whined just like a kid and the two women laughed at him
"What did we miss?" LJ asked the moment he entered from the back door,hand in hand with Felice.
"I'm just embarrassing your uncle in front of his lovely girl" Vee said and looked at Sara,giving her a wink at which the doc smiled.
"Uncle Mike,you rose from the dead.I haven't seen you since like two weeks" LJ said and went in to hug his uncle.Mike really did miss the kid.
"Hi,Sara.And just so you know he never shuts up about you" at that the engineer gave his nephew a death glare and felt his cheeks warm up till he got red as a tomato.
"Careful there,LJ.I can show Felice your baby photos real quick" there was humour in his voice but before LJ could answer ,Linc too came into the kitchen,a dirty plate in hand and a small towel on one shoulder.
"You all gonna stay in here all night,cus the steak is ready" he said in a gruffy voice and went to kiss Vee's cheek.
Sara's mouth was stretched into a big smile and she couldn't help the flutter in her heart knowing that Michael talked about her and to try and save him from further embarrassment she squeezed his hand lightly to try to reasure him that everything was fine.
Moments later when everyone started going into the yard she felt her phone vibrate in her pocket and when she saw the caller her face paled a bit.
"Are you alright, love?" Michael asked in a concerned voice at seeing her suddenly sour expression.
Sara looked up at him and gave him a smile,trying to cover her panic
"I'm okay,I'll be with you in a second" and with that she walked out of the kitchen and out at the front door of the house.
" hey baby,where are you,I got so worried when you didn't come home and wouldn't answer my calls" Dylan's annoying voice filled her line and Sara wanted to slap herself.How could she forget to fucking call him.Darn it.
"Oh,yea. Sorry baby, I went out with Katie for dinner and my phone was in my purse.I'll be home in one or two hours,don't wait up" she told him after a few beats of silence and tried to sound as convincing as possible.
"Oh,okay.Sure.Have fun ladies" he said warmly into the phone and Sara could hear the water running.He was probably in the kitchen
"Thank you.See you later" she hoped he would be asleep tho.And without waiting for his response she hung up the phone and a few deep breaths later she went to the warm family that was waiting for her in the back yard.
