She hadn't changed at all and yet she had changed completely. Her blue eyes were still comforting and fearless. But she didn't look the same as she did before. Her hair had been flat and waveless but now it spilled down over her shoulders down to her waist, waves like she just spent a day at the ocean.

It only took one look from her to bring me back to peace. Rose's eyes made me forget Maddy, my dad, my life.

I opened the door of my pickup truck for her. She slid in with ease, just like she had the day we picked it out last year. Rose fit in so perfectly like she never left.

She smiled at me, her smile was bright and uplifting. It was a very sudden feeling of peace, it was strange to feel that way again. But then again, I always felt this way around Rosie.

I started the engine, knowing exactly where we were going. She looked over at me, slightly confused. "Don't you remember our tradition?"

Her eyes went wide in excitement and warmth spread over me again. "Denny's!" Her voice was like a child's squeal.

I nodded and chuckled. "Of course. It's not a night with Rose Cole until Denny's is out of mozzarella sticks."

She looked me up and down, her cheeks buldged like she was holding back laughter. "Um Jacobs?"

I lifted my head to look at her. "Hm?"

"No shirt no service."  she pointed at the sign outside the restaurant.

I threw my head back. A loud laugh rising from my chest. "Fucking hell!"

A small pout formed on her lips and I laughed again. "No pouting Rosie." I said, reaching into the back seat. "I have a shirt somewhere in the back."

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw her eyes shift to my chest and down to my stomach. "Like what you see?" I smirked.

Rose's cheeks filled with red, heating up her face. I smiled smugly to myself.
