Dixie's POV

"Dixie."

I opened my eyes slowly, letting them adjust to the morning light.

"Brown eyes," I whispered, staring into the glint of light brown specks, swimming around pupils wide, looking into mine.

My eyes traveled lower, gazing over blush pink cheeks, full and tan. Soft skin, light powder falling over the smooth slope of a nose.

Plump, glossed lips—teeth peeking between their curves, glistening in spite of the shade, widows bow curving softly around the top.

"Hi," I watched her lips move.

"Hi," I heard myself whisper back.

Her lips spread, mouth curving into a wide smile, revealing pearly white teeth, sitting straight in a row—ten out of ten dentists worship these, I thought.

"I brought you some Advil. How do you feel?" she whispered, inches from my turned face, resting on the pillow.

Better, now that you're here, I thought. I popped the tablets into my mouth and washed them down with the water, handed to me by slender fingers and bare nails.

"Better already," I smiled back, mirroring her grin, watching me as I sat up in bed.

"Good," she stood beside me, still looking into my face. "Was the party fun?"

"It would've been better if you were there."

"I'm here now."

I looked up from my water, meeting her gaze. "Yeah. You are."

She smiled again, turning to fold the clothes on her desk.

"Do you have any plans today?"

"No, not yet. Why, do you have something in mind?" she asked absent mindedly.

"Let me take you somewhere."

She stopped folding and spun around on her heel. "Where?"

"Um... It's a surprise."

"Okay, sneaky," a soft smile fell upon her lips, teasing me.

"It'll be fun. I promise."

"I'll hold you to that, Dix."
