Dixie's POV

"Chase! Chase! Is it true you were arrested for petty theft from Tiffany's?"

Cameras flashed and paparazzi swarmed the steps of the jailhouse.

"Will you be issuing a public apology? What do you have to say to the fans?"

The boys batted them away, with Chase pulling his hood over his head.

"Dixie, are you dating Griffin?"

Ah, the Hollywood Fix. They show up when you least expect them and ask exactly the questions you think they will.

Addison glared at the reporter. "Excuse me, can you take a step back?"

"Oh my bad," the man laughed, pulling a wide shot on the camera.

My hand felt sweaty in hers, and I felt the anxiousness spread through my body.

"Addison, who are you hooking up with these days?"

Charli stepped in front of the camera.

"Charli! It's so great to see you! Are you aware that your so called bae spent the night in jail?"

"No one says bae anymore. And I obviously know, since we're all here picking him up."

Good for Charli, I thought. She wouldn't take crap from anyone.

The cameras followed us for blocks, asking a constant stream of questions.

Griffin walked over to me, his arm wrapping around my shoulder. I let go of Addison's hand.

"Griffin, what's the deal with you and Dixie? Are you two dating?"

"I hope so," he grinned down at me. Was he seriously trying to do this now?

Addison barked out a laugh, the camera man turning his equipment towards her.

"What is it, do you like Griffin too?"

"Absolutely not!" She scoffed.

"Well damn, you don't have to be rude about it!" Griffin laughed, pulling me closer to his side.

"She's not being rude. This guy is the one being rude," I jabbed my finger towards the reporter, swiveling his camera to get a shot of me.

"And this is private property," Addison glared at him, following our friends through the gate. "So bye!"

We were back home, for the first time since this morning. Chase headed upstairs, Thomas following behind to help him talk to the lawyers.

The rest of us plopped down into the living room furniture, sighing at the events that had taken place.

"Dixie," Griffin said from his seat next to me on the couch. "Come on. Let's talk."

"Not right now," I huffed, feeling cranky.

Addison watched me from across the room, sitting in beanbag chairs with Avani.

My temple throbbed, all of my emotions setting in, and I was exhausted.

"I'm going to take a nap."

1:35 PM

Addison's POV

Avani had painted my nails a light purple color, and I blew on them lightly as I walked up the stairs.

"Are you awake?" I asked, entering the room.

The shades were drawn and Dixie was curled up on the air mattress, blankets covering her face.

"Yes."

I walked over to my desk, unsure of what to say.

"Do you want to talk?"

"No," she mumbled from under the covers.

My heart fell. "Do you need anything?"

"Can you just leave me alone?"

My eyes burned. "Okay?"  I said, the hurt betraying my voice.

She said nothing, leaving me standing there, head racing with thoughts.

"Whatever." I forced out, walking towards the door.

I waited, waited for her to say anything.

But silence filled the room, and I slipped out, angry tears forming in my eyes.
