Look, I'm a romance whore, I live and die for romance subplots and romance in general. I am also a romance critic, if I see romance that's portrayed weirdly I'm gonna point it out.

Naruhina is one of the most weirdly portrayed romances I've seen.

First of all, that stalkerish nature Hinata had with following Naruto around (though I see for Kishimoto, it's more of a...plot thing) is just...yikes.

Hinata always gave off creepy stalker vibes and secret yandere energy because of the sole fact that she followed naruto around as a kid, lived and breathed for this man as a teenager and then finally got him as an adult.

Update : no, I'm being very serious. It was actually strange how kishi portrays following someone around without their knowledge (STALKING) to be "romantic". That is not romance. That's a felony.

But even if we can justify Hinata's actions by saying she was just a "shy girl", that still doesn't help the fact that, like another ship I know (*cough* sasusaku) all Hinata could think about was Naruto, whereas Naruto didn't give a rat's ass about her.

I just,, don't this girl have a life???? She had a life in part 1, but in part 2 she became naruto's simp and that's on period.

And don't get me started on Naruto's dumbass.

It wasn't brought up again until the damn war, as if Kishimoto literally forgot that one of his female characters just had revolutionary character arc development and he had to drop a little flashback to show that yes...Naruto didn't forget Hinata's existence.

It was just so disappointing that a confession that could've brought out some good development from both characters was just pushed under the rug like it meant nothing.

I'll get to how Neji's death was the most pointless death in the history of deaths, but it MADE ME SO MAD to see that his death brought no impact other than "Naruto holding my hand uwu I'm such happy girl rn uwu"

UPDATE : I can "somehow" believe that the only reason he liked sakura was because of his sasuke rivalry, but sakura saying he loved HINATA all along when he didn't know she existed???? What.
