Amber's POV:

I looked at the others before I went invisible. Tony came into the room and looked around. I smiled at his confused expression. "Where did the troublemaker go?" I looked at Loki who was trying to suppress a smile. "She's hiding." He said and I smiled. It's been a while since I've pulled a prank on anyone. I looked at Bucky who had a small smile on his face. I became visible again and let his hair go back to brown. "What's the matter Tony?" I asked and he jumped.

"Shit. Amber. Don't scare me like that." I smiled. "Sorry Tony." He turned to face me. "Why did you make my hair pink?" I looked at him like he was crazy. "What are you talking about? Your hair isn't pink." I looked at the others who were trying to suppress a smile. "Nice try princess. When was the last time you ate?" Dammit Loki. I looked at the ground. I can't tell them. I heard someone sigh before I looked up. Loki has his arms crossed. I sighed. "I don't know." I said truthfully. "So you're in the next phase." I nodded. "What's phase three?" I looked at the wall. "I don't know. I didn't get that far in my moms journal." I admitted. I honestly didn't because I didn't have the time.

"Stop lying firecracker." Tony said which pissed me off. "I'm not lying Stark and stop calling me firecracker." I hate nicknames. HYDRA used to call me different things and after I asked why they said that they were nicknames. I went with it because I never knew that Test Subject 14 wasn't a nickname. "Calm down Amber." Loki said which broke me out of my thoughts. "Why should I? You don't know what I went through!" I yelled them pointed to the others. "They don't know what I went through!" I stopped and looked at Bucky. "Well, he does unfortunately." I dropped my hands. "You will never know what I went through."

Flashback:

I stood at the stairs as I heard mom yelling again. "You don't know what I went through with that ungrateful little brat!" I knew she was talking about me. "Enough yelling. You're going to wake her up." My dad said trying to defuse the situation. I sighed and walked down the stairs. "Mom? Why are you yelling?" I asked even though I know why. "Go back to bed Amberly." She hissed. I looked at her and saw a fire burning bright behind her eyes. That didn't scare me. What did though was when she pulled a gun out. "Go. To. Bed." She was beyond angry. She pointed the gun at me and I froze. Mom would never shoot me. The next thing I felt was a burning pain in my chest. She shot me.

End of Flashback

My hand went to where she shot me. I could still feel the burning pain when I think about it. The shock I felt after I hit the ground is still there. I never thought that my mother would be the first person to shoot me. "Amber?" I heard someone question and I only hummed, letting them know that I heard them. "You okay?" Loki asked. I looked up at him and sent him a fake smile. "Yeah. I'm fine." It was clear on his face that he didn't believe me.

Loki's POV:

I knew that she was lying. I could tell by the look in her eyes. All I saw was pain and fear. She should know that she could never hide anything from me. "Amber." I walked towards her. "I know you and I know you aren't fine." She took a shaky breath and smiled. "I'm okay Loki." I knew that she wasn't. "Let's have Bruce run some tests to see what's going on." Tony said which made her tense. I tried to get into her mind but only reached darkness.

Amber's POV:

I knew that Loki was going to try to get into my mind. I faced the others and faked a smile. "Sounds good." I turned my gaze to Bruce. "Let's go." Before I made it to the door, I crumbled to the ground in pain. A blinding pain erupted in my head. "What's wrong Amber?" The worried voice of Loki spoke but it faded. I opened my eyes and I was back at HYDRA. "Did it work?" Liam asked. I looked at him. He had his signature smirk on his face. "Yes sir." Someone said. Liam seemed to like the answer and turned to face me.

"I will be reclaiming you very shortly. Your avenger friends won't be able to save you." He laughed. "There will be no running this time Amber." He faded and I was left in darkness. I need to leave and turn myself in. I won't let them hurt Loki. They can do whatever they want to me but they have to keep the others out of it. There's one thing on my mind;

I need to leave.
