Haerin stared at the huge "F" circled in red on the top of her test. She had failed. Again.

Great eighteenth birthday present.

The class began to file out of the classroom and Haerin quickly got up, making her way to the doors but before she could leave, the teacher called her to stay behind.

Haerin sighed as she turned back around, plopping herself down on the chair across from the teacher.

"Haerin, you failed again. At this rate, you'll never graduate." Her teacher told her.

"It's not my fault I'm dyslexic." Haerin mumbled.

"What's that?" The teacher asked.

"Nothing." Haerin immediately replied, earning a look from her teacher.

"Anyways, if you fail one more time, I have no choice to call your parents." Haerin's eyes immediately widened as she shook her hands in front of her.

"No, please don't do that. I'll work harder!" Haerin exclaimed. Her teacher raised her eyebrow.

"I hope you do, Haerin." The teacher said before dismissing her. Haerin gave her teacher a quick bow before leaving.

"What a freak." Haerin heard someone say as she walked by. She didn't the energy to fight back today so she simply shoved her hands into the blazer of her school uniform, making her way to her locker.

Once Haerin had her backpack, she made her way to the grocery store, taking out the list her grandmother had given her. Her grandma had been kind enough to draw pictures beside the words, helping her recognize what was needed.

As she walked, she couldn't help but turn around every now and then, the feeling of being followed triggering her.

Harin quickly gathered all the items on the list and was about to pay when she saw a small rose plant being sold.

Halmeoni loves roses.

"How much is that?" Haerin asked the worker, pointing to the plant. The worker told her the price, making Haerin frown as she looked at the cash in her hand.

Dammit, I'm a little short.

Haerin decided to take out a few items from the basket that she knew her grandma had added for her, like the bag of chips and tub of ice cream. After returning the items, she grabbed the plant and paid before walking home.

I swear, someone's following me.

Haerin turned around but like every other time, no one was there. She couldn't help but feel like someone was watching her though.

"Halmeoni, I'm home!" Haerin called out as she opened the front door. "Halmeoni?"

Haerin had expected to see her grandmother sitting on the couch like she always was, knitting. But instead, her grandmother was scrambling around the house.

"Haerin, go to your room and change and make sure to pack only the most valuable items, things you can't live without." Her grandmother instructed.

"Whoa there." Haerin said, putting her hands on her grandmother's shoulders. "I'll do the packing, you should rest."

Her grandmother quickly shook her head. "Haerin, they're coming for you, we need to leave, fast. Let Halmeoni help you."

Staring at the intense look in her grandmother's eyes, Haerin hesitated before nodding her head. "I'll head to my room then."

Her grandmother gave her a small hug before she left for her room, patting Haerin's back. Once Haerin was in her room, she changed out of her school uniform to a red t-shirt, black jeans, and leather jacket with black boots, her signature outfit.
