Mnemosyne's room was at the end of the hall, dark and eerie like a fortune teller. She had long, wavy, orange hair and wore a green dress, a veil over her head. Like the muses, she was filled with youth, evident of her titaness goddess status.
Her eyes were emerald green, a vibrant colour for eyes that Haerin had never seen before. There were two chairs in front of her, meaning that only two of them could sit.
Luckily, it seemed as though Mnemosyne already knew which two she wanted. "Two children of the big three, what a rare sight."
She motioned at Haerin and Mark to sit, and they exchanged looks before following the titaness's wishes.
"You have many memories, Mark." Mnemosyne started, eyeing the male sitting beside Haerin. "Most in our world but you." Haerin gulped as Mnemosyne's eyes landed on her. "You are new to it all."
"You were the last one that saw Dasom's group." Mark said, deciding to cut to the chase. "What can you tell us about their visit?"
Mnemosyne sighed, grabbing onto Mark's hands. "It would be much easier to show you."
"Mark!" Haerin exclaimed as his eyes turned white, scaring the life out of her but Mnemosyne's head shot towards her.
"Don't touch him, he's fine." Mnemosyne hissed.
Haerin gulped, sinking into her seat. She waited, her hands clasped tightly in her lap as Mark seemed to be taken into another world right in front of her.
Mark's eyes returned back to normal as Mnemosyne removed her hands from the male, Mark shaking as he adjusted to his body again.
"Does that answer your questions?" Mnemosyne asked as Mark took a deep breath.
"Yes, yes it does." Mark replied, his eyes dark with intent.
...
The group had dinner at a small fast-food restaurant before heading to a hotel, where they rented two rooms. The boys were nice enough to share a room for the four of them, while Haerin had her own.
Mark told them that he would explain what he saw in the morning, as his brain was hurting from the experience. He did tell them that he knew where Dasom went, and wasn't too worried. Mark said that they would find his friends again soon.
As much as she liked the space in her room, Haerin felt out of place. The cream coloured walls made the room feel much lighter than her own room, and it made it difficult for her to rest, even with the lights off.
Haerin sighed as she grabbed her phone, giving up on sleep for the night. She was surprised to see a text from Mark.
Mark
You awake?She quickly replied.
Haerin
Yeah, can't sleep. The walls are too light.Haerin could already hear Mark's giggle at her lame joke and a minute later, there was a knock on her door. She opened it up to reveal Mark in his pyjamas.
"Can't sleep either?" Haerin asked. Mark shook his head.
"Haechan took up the whole bed." Mark said as Haerin closed the door behind him. "Hard to sleep when there's no space for you."
Haerin smiled as she turned on the lamp, illuminating the room. "Well there's room here but I don't know if you want to sleep here, since there's only one bed."
"It depends, will you take up 90% of the bed?" Mark asked.
"Probably not."
"Then it's already better than back there." Mark said with a smile.
