"That was dumb of you." Haerin said as she helped Mark change his bandage that night, the two of them sitting down on his bed.
"No it wasn't." Mark defended. "I was just doing what I needed to do to win the game."
"It's just a stupid game." Haerin pointed out as she attached the last bit in place.
"Well I have a reputation to uphold." Mark told her. "Plus it doesn't- OW!"
Haerin smiled as Mark turned around, shooting her a glare for applying pressure on his wound. "You were saying?"
Mark shook his head as Haerin passed him his t-shirt, slipping it over his bare chest. "I hate you."
"The feeling is mutual." Haerin said as she grabbed Mark's laptop from his desk. "What do you want to watch tonight?"
"I'm kind of exhausted, not going to lie." Mark said as he got comfortable on his bed. "Can we do something more relaxing?"
"What could possibly more relaxing than watching a movie?" Haerin asked as she returned his laptop to Mark's desk, settling beside him.
Haerin gulped as Mark stared at her, feeling awkward and out of place. She quickly took her phone out of her pocket, glancing at it even though there were no notifications.
"I'm going to be a trainer soon." Mark suddenly said. "This is my last year as a camper."
Haerin put her phone down, resting her hands under her head as she turned her attention to Mark. "How do you feel about that?"
"I don't know." Mark confessed. "I feel like it's more work and less enjoyable moments."
"What do you mean?" Haerin asked, not really understanding what Mark was referring to.
"Well as a trainer, you job is to train the younger demigods. You get to leave and enter the camp whenever you want, which sounds great until you reallize you're leaving the camp to help deal with some problem in Olympus or retrieve a quest from the campers. It's like all work and no fun."
Haerin slowly nodded her head. "Being an adult sucks, doesn't it?"
Mark couldn't help but let out a small laugh at her comment. "Yeah it does."
The two of them stayed there, enjoying the peacefulness of the night as they both lied on their backs, staring at the ceiling of Mark's room. The only sound was the small buzzing of the electricity being supplied to the cabin but aside from that, it was absolutely quiet.
"Haerin?" Mark said, breaking the silence.
"Yeah?" Haerin said as she turned her head to see Mark lying there with his eyes closed.
"Can you get me a glass of water?" Mark asked her.
"Yeah sure, I'll be right back." Haerin said, rolling off the bed to go to the small kitchen outside of Mark's room to get the male a glass of water.
When she returned, Haerin was surprised to see Mark sleeping soundly on his side, soft breathing sounds exiting his mouth.
"Stupid Mark." Haerin muttered as she placed the glass on Mark's desk. "You should have just told me you were exhausted."
Haerin lifted the blankets from under Mark, tucking him into his bed. She made sure to turn the lights of his room off before leaving, quietly exiting Zeus' cabin.
Haerin was not expecting to bump into the head counsellor of Apollo's cabin the second she turned around from the closed door.
"What the heck were you doing in there?" Haechan asked, narrowing his eyes. Haerin noticed that he looked pretty tired as well, probably from the game and from tending the injured campers.
