An overdue apology [17]

Zachary was out in the backyard tanning, which is where he spent most of his time when Daniel had interviews or stuff to do with his job.

Jonah took this as the perfect opportunity to apologize to Zach, considering everyone else was at Six Flags and Daniel was in an interview. Zachary didn't go because that's something him and Daniel were planning on doing together.

He pulled up a chair beside the younger boy and sat down facing him, "Can we please talk?"

"If you're here to tell me how much you love me and then kiss me out of nowhere again; no we can not talk."

"I promise that's not going to happen. I'm actually here to apologize. You're clearly the one for Daniel and I should've respected that."

"Do you know how dirty I felt after you did that? I cried for hours because I felt like a slut. I was terrified that if when Daniel found out, he was going to hate me. Do you know what that feels like? Fearing that you're going to lose the best thing to ever happen to you?"

"I was confused and way out of line. I'm so sorry for kissing you and making you feel like that. It was never my intention. The day you opened the door wearing his shirt, I was so jealous because Daniel had what I was struggling to admit."

"So you seen your supposed to be best friend in a happy relationship and you decided to hate me for it? Explain to me how that makes sense."

"It doesn't and I've come to realize that. I was jealous because he was happy with you and I was struggling with coming out of the closet."

"I get that okay, coming out was the hardest thing I ever had to do. That doesn't give you the right to do what you did though."

"I know, and I'm owning up to my actions. I never should've kissed you or said those cruel things. I regret hurting you and Daniel everyday. I was just wondering if we could be friends. You make Daniel happier than I've ever seen him and I want to make things right."

"As long as you promise to never kiss me again, I think I can get on board with that. You should apologize to Daniel though. You guys were best friends and I hate that I came between that."

"I don't think Daniel is ever going to have a civil conversation with me again. I don't blame him, and it's most definitely not your fault. If anything I probably came between the two of you."

"Daniel hides his feelings but deep down, he misses you. This whole situation brought us closer actually. We learned to comfort and understand each other. We also learned that communication is key."

Jonah chuckled at Zach's joke about the situation, "I can agree with that one. It's something I wish I'd learned sooner."

When Daniel got home, it was an hour before dinner. He was greeted by an empty house with music playing in the kitchen. Curious, he went to go see if anyone was home.

Zachary was dancing while cooking dinner. Something Daniel had never seen him do, but there were no complaints. Act Up by City Girls was playing and Zach was shaking what his mama gave him.

"Zachy, you're lucky nobody's here. That ass is so hot everyone would be trying to get some." He walked over to his boyfriend and smacked his ass.

"Sweetheart, as much as I appreciate the compliment, you need to keep it in your pants tonight. Everyone will be out late so we're having a guest for dinner. I'm making your favourite, cheese cappelletti."

"You know me so well, what would I do without you?"

"Let's see, you'd miss out on this thick, juicy, voluptuous..." Zachary paused, "Heart of mine. This heart that beats for you. Also, you'd never make things right with someone."

And with that, Jonah walked in the kitchen carrying the groceries that Zach had sent him out to go get.
