A plan for the future [16]

Zachary and Daniel were strolling around this little hidden park that they had found earlier in the month. Ever since finding the "secret park" as they liked to call it, the couple started spending many evenings just walking, happy to be together in the moment.

Tonight was one of those evenings where they were grateful to be in one another's company. Daniel set out the blanket he had brought in his backpack and laid beside his lover; his other whole. Both boys were not into saying 'other half' because they are each a whole, so they decided with other whole. They were each other's better version of themselves, in their eyes.

Their wandering hands instantly found each other in the light of the sunset, just as on their first date. They loved the silence, sometimes silence says the words they can't form into sentences. They adored the verbal communication as well though, what's not to adore when you completely understand each other inside and out.

It was this evening that they decided they wanted to speak, and take in every drop of honey that came off their lover's words. Zachary had a pressing issue on his mind that he was yearning to communicate with Daniel about.

Daniel was first to break the silence that they had come to love. "Zachy, what is on your mind my love?"

"You know how we will be together until the end of time; in life and in death?" Daniel nodded his head answering the question.

Zachary continued, "After we've married and are content-although I am always content with you- I want to raise a child together. I know it sounds like a big responsibility, but together we can do anything we put our minds to. I'm sure of it."

The older of the pair was ecstatic to learn that Zach had shared the same dream as him. All Daniel wanted was a child to love and teach about the wonders of the world; the wonders of love and life itself.

A huge grin flashed upon his face, "I would be honoured to raise a child with you. That child will have everything it will ever need. We will be everything he or she needs and when that isn't enough we will work our asses off to make sure they have what they need."

Zachary became ecstatic as well. Talking about his and Daniel's future always gave him such a thrill. Such a longing for what was to come in the many long years the future held for them.

"Seeing you this happy fills my entire being with happiness, sweetheart. She, will be the happiest, most humble little girl in the world. I can't wait to spend forever with you and our daughter."

Daniel started pouting in a joking manner, "hey! Why do you get to decide the gender of our baby?"

Zachary was instantly filled with the feeling of selfishness. "I'm so sorry. I never thought to ask you.."

He was cut off by Daniel's lips enveloping his own in a warm kiss. When they pulled apart, Daniel whispered "I've always wanted a baby girl."

It was in that moment that Zachary found himself excited to plan a future with his other whole.
