Today's the day of the Morinomiya Academy cultural festival. And for some reason the daycare has to participate too. So we set up a refreshment stand. Teaching the kids to carry the juice without spilling was damn difficult. For now only Kirin seems to be the only one capable. "Usaida the vegetable costumes you made are impressive!" I said with a bright smile. "I made one for you and Ryuichi too" he said grinning widely. "No thanks" I declined politely while Ryuichi put it on without any hesitation.
The door slide open to reveal Mrs. Kumatsuka which surprised Ryuichi causing him to fall flat on his face. "Someone help him" I started laughing. "I will!" Taka said rolling Ryuichi on the floor. Kotaro wanted to join the fun so he ended up rolling with Ryuichi. Usaida look a video of this while I was laughing and supporting myself against him. Hayato came in and helped Ryuichi up. The reason why Mrs. Kumatsuka came was because she wanted us to do her a favor.
A man in a suit with a camera hanging around his neck came inside the club room and said "So where are the cute highschool babysitter girls?" "They are over there" Mrs. Kumatsuka pointed towards us. "I am Usaida Usako, this is Ryuoko-chan, this is Hayako-chan and that is Tsubasa-chan" Usaida said in a girly voice. I smiled nervously while Mrs. Kumatsuka slipped out the room.
Mr. Kumatsuka immediately recognized Usaida as a man and got very pissed. He wanted to leave the clubroom. "P-please wait" I said putting my hand on his shoulder. "I understand that you're worried about Kirin but they're all really just good friends. We are all doing our best so please trust us!" I said. He took my hand from his shoulder and kissed my knuckles.
"Very well. I trust you. Having you around changes everything. Tsubasa, if you were 15 years younger I would have asked for your hand" he said with a charming smile. I couldn't help but blush. "U-um please stop" Ryuichi said coming closer to us and tripped making his wig fall off while Hayato just slammed his wig on the ground. "You're the only girl?! How gruesome it must be! I'll take care of you then" Mr. Kumatsuka said before putting his arms around me and pulling me with him. "Woah Daddy. I think you have mistaken. Like she said before we all are working hard and we all are friends so if you please refrain yourself from doing such acts" Usaida said, a bit annoyed.
One by one all the parents arrived in the room and it was soon a house full. The kids served juices to their parents. The fathers were a bit emotional towards their daughters. Fathers huh? I sighed looking at the sky. "Are you alright?" A husky voice which was very close spoke from behind me. I turned around only to be faced with Saikawa, my lips slightly brushing his. Realizing what happened both of our eyes went wide. I hurriedly looked around to see incase someone saw us but fortunately no one did. "Strawberry" he murmured touching his lips, a small smile on his lips. At that moment, at that very moment, my head blew.
"Well, let's take a picture to remember the day and also show it to the chairwoman" Mr. Kumatsuka suggested. Everyone stood with their family members while I was still in a daze from before. Just take my soul away already. Usaida then pulled my arm and positioned me behind him while he sat on the ground. I smiled weakly before putting my arms on his shoulders bending a little. Right behind me was Saikawa- the devil and I couldn't help but mentally scream even louder than before feeling the contact of our bodies. The picture was taken and it turned out great to others but to me? I had the worst expression ever.
Few Days later
"Hayato why do you always hit him?" I asked angryly while calming Taka down. "I wouldn't hit anyone who doesn't do as they are told" he told scaring the kids. Before I was about to smack him, Mrs. Kamitani beat me to it. "I wonder from whom he gets it" Mrs. Kamitani sighed to herself. I think it's from you I looked at her along with Usaida and Ryuichi. Mrs. Kamitani then told the kids that she had chicken eggs in the lab room and whether they wanted to see it or not.
We all went to the science lab and saw the eggs in the incubator. I looked at the kids who were looking at the incubator with sparkling eyes. Mrs. Kamitani told us that the chicks would be hatching next day and so asked us to visit again. The next day the chick hatched and trailed behind Kotaro. How adorable. Suddenly Taka wanted to play with the chicks which ended up scaring them away.
From the corner of my eyes I saw one window was open and there was a cat sitting on it. Kotaro and a chick ran towards that window unknowingly. I rushed towards them and shielded Kotaro and the chick with my body and waited for the impact. But it didn't come. When I turned around I saw the cat being lifted by Hayato from the outside. I sighed a breath of relieve and sat on the floor. Kotaro hugged me and I could feel his body shake of fear. I calmed him down stroking his hair. Tiny adorable chicks. Stay in that line until you grow up.
