(4) "Dinner with me?"

The next night it was almost 1030 when everyone was allowed to go home. Bucky caught the apartment elevator to find Brooklyn sitting on the floor.

"Brooklyn?" He said

She looked up. "Hey.." she said as he slid down as well.

"You no longer mad at me?" He said

"I just want to eat and sleep." She said as she rubbed her neck.

He looked down. "Have dinner with me.." he said

She looked over at him. "What?" She said

"Have dinner with me? You can use my shower while I order the food." He said

"Your my boss.." she said

"And it isn't a invitation to screw you. It's just dinner.." he said as the elevator approached their floor.

"Okay I guess.." she said as she followed him up to his apartment.

When they got inside he took her upstairs to his bedroom and bathroom.

"Your wife isn't going home and find us." She said

"I'm divorced.." he said as he started to find the towels.

She began to strip her scrubs when he turned around he saw her tattoos as she stood there in a red bra and black lace cheeksters.

"Um here are the towels..the shower is all yours. Just save enough hot water for me." He said

"Yeah..um wait. I need something to change into.." she said

"I will take care of it. Which one is yours?" He said

"430."she said as she unhooked her bra.

"Got it." He said and walked out.

"I'm not gonna run into your husband or boyfriend?" He said from the hall.

"I'm a widow Dr Barnes..I live alone." She said as she got into the shower.

"0h..I'm sorry Brooklyn." He said as he looked down.

Brooklyn was happy he was no longer in the bathroom. She was wiping her tears as the hot water washed over her. Bucky left his loft apartment to find hers.

When he walked in he smirked. "Definitely can tell you are military darlin.." he said when he saw how neat and tidy it was.

He went upstairs to her bedroom. When he got to her dresser he saw it lined with pictures. Her boot camp graduation picture with her family and late husband's family. The one below it was their engagement picture of them blurred out but her hand with the ring.

The one below that was their wedding photo Josh in his dress blues her in a dress with her veil over both of them sharing a kiss.

"Oh doll baby.." he whispered when he saw Josh's dog tags hanging down her mirror. He finally found her some clothes to change into and left.

When he returned he laid them on the counter and began to order the food. She came out dressed braiding her hair.

"I ordered some steak dinners.." he said

"Okay.." she said

"I'm gonna take a quick shower. It's already been paid for if it comes before I get out." He said

"Okay.." she said

Bucky ran upstairs to the bathroom while he was in the shower. She got a beer out of the fridge and opened it. While she was waiting for him to get done Peyton called her.
