(11) Meeting The Rest of The Fam!

"Wow Buck..this is amazing." Brooklyn said when they pulled up at the house.

"Yeah..mom and dads house is there..next to them is my grandparents. This house is mine and my brothers. My sisters share with my other girl cousins.." Bucky said as he pointed out everyone's beach house.

"Daddy I gotta potty! And is Arielle gonna be here cause I've missed her. We were in the same class and then school was cancelled." Vanessa said

"Yeah baby." Bucky said

"Yay!! I'm so excited!" She said as she did a dance.

"Who is she talking about?" Brooklyn said

"Bradley's oldest daughter is the same age as Vannie. They are just three months apart. So they are super close." He said

Other SUVs started to pull in around them. "Ah..they're here baby." He said as he turned to look at Vanessa.

Vanessa quickly unbuckled herself and got out of the car. She ran to Arielle they were both screaming and hugging. Bucky shook his head at Bradley.

"Brooklyn baby..that's Arielle as you can tell. And that's their son Hudson James and this little darlin is their youngest Ms Piper Jane..she is 5 months old." Bucky said as he took her from Val.

"Hence why I was the DD the night we came over." Valerie said

"They are adorable." Brooklyn said

A tall blonde walked up behind Bucky and tried to jump on him. "Hey hey baby here." Bucky said as he handed off Piper back to Val.

"You little shit.." he said as he turned around and messed with the blonde.

"Whose this?" The blonde said

"My girl..Brooklyn baby this is oldest nephew Gabe. He's leaving for college this fall..he makes his deal old uncle feel very old.." Bucky said

"Don't forget about my annoying little sisters.." Gabe said as they came up behind him.

Bucky picked up the littlest blonde and threw her in the air. "Little Maci this is Uncle James' girlfriend. Can you say hi.." he said

"Hi.." she said in a low tone.

"And this is Catalina.." Lula said as she joined the group.

"I forgot that all of yours got your hair.." Brooklyn said

"I know. Luckily we can't have anymore or he would keep trying." Lula said

They all heard footsteps running. "Ah the Branson crew.." Bradley said

"That's Leela and Karter. Guys this is my girlfriend Brooklyn." Bucky said

"Hi.." Karter said

"Nice to meet you.." Leela said

Becca and her husband Darren were coming up the sidewalk with their two kids. "That's there two girls Francesca and Marissa." Bucky said

"Here comes Ruthie too.." Brandon said

"And that is Raelyn and Lucas." Bucky said when he saw her. Ruthie had her 5 year old daughter and two year old son.

He finished introducing Brooklyn to his nieces and nephews. All of them went inside while the boys unloaded cars. After they were all settled in their houses they all had to get ready for dinner.

"I really hope mom is in a better mood." Bucky said

"I just don't understand why she acted like that the other night. I've never known mom to be cold." Brandon said as they all walked down the side walk with the kids.

"What do you mean?" Bradley said

"Mom was rude I mean flat out rude to Brooklyn. She just acted like she was not happy that I was moving on with someone else. When she knew that she knew Brandon she texted him to come over.." Bucky said

"What? Mom wouldn't do that.." Branson said

"Oh she did. And granted it was good to see Brooklyn again. But mom was not happy..even after they left she went on a tangent for thirty minutes about how she couldn't believe he was bringing her to the family beach trip. Dad loves her..he thinks she's the best thing ever. But mom..something is odd about her behavior." Brandon said

When they got their grandparents house. They made their way down to the basement where dinner was set up. Bucky pulled Brooklyn to him to wait for them to go last to say hi to his parents. He wanted to see if his other siblings notice how Winnie was towards Brooklyn.

When it was finally their turn he said "hey mama..you remember Brooklyn?"

"Oh..right I forgot you told me you were bringing her. It's nice to see you again. Where are my grand babies James?" She said

"Over there mom.." he said and they walked off. They had a better reception with his dad and grandparents. James Sr was over the moon to know that they had another veteran to add to the family.

Branson walked over to Winnie. "Mom..are you feeling alright? Cause I've never in all my 38 years seen you be so rude.." Branson said

"I am not being rude.." she said and walked off.

Bradley and Brandon joined him. "Something is definitely off about mom. And he is her favorite one would think she wouldn't be like this." Branson said

"Yeah. Even dad senses it.." Brandon said

Bucky and Brooklyn kept their distance the rest of the night. All of his family loved Brooklyn she could join in on their military conversations and swap her own stories with them. That night Bucky Brooklyn and his brothers and their wives joined each other on their back porch.

The kids were down for the night so they were enjoying a beer or two. "Mom was acting strange little brother. And she doesn't seem to think she is being rude." Branson said

"Yeah.." Bucky said as he had Brooklyn in his lap.

"See I told you moms don't like me.." she said

"Your mother in law didn't like you? Good lord I wonder why your husband and you made everyone sick in the battalion with your sickening PDA." Brandon said

She threw her beer cap at him. "We knew when there was a time and a place to be husband and wife." She said

"Don't throw things at me. I still out rank your ass.." Brandon said

"You all do thank you.." she said as she took a sip of her beer.

"Oh fuck yeah we do." Bucky said

"But no his mother didn't like me. She felt my place was to be at home popping babies out no offense to you ladies. His dad didn't like me he felt my place was at home making sure I had dinner on the table..they blamed me for his death." She said

"Damn.." Bradley said

"Yeah.." she said

"This isn't the 1950s.." Branson said

"Yeah that's what I said." She said

"Well at least it's just the mom this time. Dad absolutely adores you.." Bradley said

"Dad does baby." Bucky said as he played with her hair.

They all sat out there a little longer before they called it a night.
