They sat there for a little longer before tony helped steve up and leaned him up against him for support on the way to his room. Steve winced with every step but was relieved to finally make it to the bed. He sat on the edge as he pulled off his dirty t-shirt and tony sat there in awe for a second. "Can you get me my shorts?" He asked, tony snapped out of it.

"Yeah of course... what drawer?" He walked over to the dresser.

"Bottom left." Steve Said as he began taking his pants off. His legs started hurting so much they were almost too sore to move.

"Let me help," tony said and kneeled in front of him. He pulled his jeans past his knees and let out a laugh.

"What?" Steve asked with a smile.

Tony shook his head, "nothing, nothing not the time" a smile still on his face.

"No no what is it?" Steve asked again and tony looked up at him.

He laughed, "kind of reminds me of the first night we spent together." He smirked and started pulling the pair of black shorts up his legs.

Steve chuckled, "well it was a good night" he remarked.

Tony scoffed, "good? Try great" He stood up in front of him and started walking around the bed, "it really peaked towards then end huh?" He sat down and scooted close to him.

Steve smiled and turned on his side, "you could say that" he leaned his face in closer to tonys slowly.
Tony noticed and looked down at his lips before leaning in even closer. He looked into his eyes before closing his and stopped the drumroll to the kiss.

It was soft at first, sweet. They pulled away for all of a second, "tony, I just.. I don't know if I'm ready to go as far as that night"

Tony smiled and filled his cheek, "good old fashion make out?" He asked and steve smiled back with a nod. Tony smiled back and ran his hand through his buzzed hair as he pulled him back in for a passionate make out session before steve curled up next to him with his head resting on his chest and falling asleep.

He didn't have any nightmares that night, something about falling asleep with tony helped him with that, like he protected him from those horrors. He woke up to the sun beaming through his window and winced against the light as he opened his eyes. He felt around the bed and found that it was empty again. His re laid back thinking tony had left again for whatever reason until he smelt something burning.

He sat up and flung his legs over the side of the bed and stood up, his legs were still sore but not nearly as bad as yesterday—well earlier that morning. He walked into the kitchen slowly and leaned against the doorway as he watched tony struggle to cook something. He smiled and walked into the kitchen startling tony as he started talking, "I think it's burnt" he remarked.

Tony turned quickly, "no, no go back to bed this was supposed to be a surprise." He turned back and tried to flip what seemed to be bacon but it was burnt to the pan.

Steve laughed and nudged him out of the way, "heat is too high" he turned the knob and grabbed the spatula from tonys hand.

"This isn't what I was going for," tony mumbled and sat down on the counter.

steve tossed the charred bacon into the garbage, "you don't know how to cook do you?" He asked and put the frying pan back on the stove.

"It can't be that hard" tony shrugged his shoulders, "it's just throwing raw food on a hot plate" steve didn't even answer he just laughed as he threw some fresh bacon back onto the frying pan. "And I suppose the old man knows how to cook" tony raised his eyebrows.

Steve turned to him, "the old man does" he grinned and flipped it over. Once it was finished he threw it on the plate beside the stove and cracked some eggs into the frying pan.

"And the old man is good at it" tony said after he jumped off the counter and took a bite out of a piece of bacon. He wrapped an arm around his waist and rested his chin on steves bare shoulder.

"Sunny side up?" Steve asked and tony nodded. Steve turned his head and left a kiss on his forehead. Before tossing then eggs onto the plates and heading over to his small table.

As they sat down at the table tony spoke, "how're you feeling?"

Steve sighed, ready to put this all behind him, "a little sore, but better" tony nodded and took a bite of his toast. "Listen tony..." steve started and stumbled a bit with his words before continuing, "I just— thank you."

Tony frowned slightly, "you don't need to thank me"
Steve scoffed, "I really do..." he trailed off, "it wasn't easy, and... you were always there and you never stopped fighting for me"

Tony grabbed his hand, "you don't need to thank me though, I'm always going to fight for you" he took another bite, "and, just to be clear, don't ever run into another exploding building again, because I will kill you"

Steve scoffed, "I'll try my best" he smiled and they both ate their breakfast together. What started as two strangers lost in the city who found each other in a coffee shop, ended in two people finding the love of their life.
