Tyler's POV
We walked in to Bri's house and I saw her mom and sister trying to figure out a puzzle. I came up behind her mom and kissed her on the cheek "thank you mam, it means the world." She turned around in surprise and stood up to hug me. I turned to her sister. "Well hello there Bella. I've never got the chance to formally meet you! You are more beautiful than your sister has described." She blushed and looked down. "Thanks Tyler, I've heard about you too." I turned back to Bri. "Ohhhhh is that true huh? I hope good things." Her mom laughed and invited us to come in the kitchen. On the table was a cake that said 'welcome home Tyler' Home. I couldn't believe it. I guess this is my "home" in many ways. I walked back over to her mother. "Thank you Mrs. Martin." She shook her head and put her hand on my shoulder. "Please Ty, call me Mom, ma, Tori, Victoria. Which ever you pick, just please no Mrs. Martin." Bri walked over and grabbed a fork. "Ha, least you have a choice." Her mom shook her head again and hugged her. "If it makes you happier, you guys can change back to my last name, Butler." I Laughed.
"Hmm Bri-Bri Butler, I like it." She grabbed my hand and took me upstairs. "We will eat cake later okay mom." We ran up to her room. She opened her door and dropped on her bed. I came next to her and dropped as well. We looked up at her ceiling.
"I think I'm going to paint something up there, like a mural of a band or something. Not sure which band though." I tooled at her.
"You're beautiful when you're thinking you know that?" She covered her face with her hands.
"And you're adorable when you lie." I grabbed her hands away from her face and rolled over to kiss her. She refused to kiss back and pulled away. "You gotta catch me!" I stood up to where she was now putting a jacket on.
"Where are we going?" She laughed and ran down the road. Of course I was "trailing" behind her. I could have easily ran past her, but wanted her to show me the way.
We arrived at the park downtown. It was quiet and peaceful.
"Hey could you give me a lift Mr. Muscles?" I ran over to her. She was trying to climb up in a tree that had huge swinging branches and beautiful leaves.
"Isn't it beautiful up here."
I nodded, even though she wasn't looking at me.
"The stars all rise so perfectly aligned." She looked at me and Smiled
"Tyler, I guess I should explain why we are here in this tree. I use to come here for peace and quiet. It's silent up here, and I like it. And better yet, it's like you camouflage up here. Whenever my mom would come and try to find me she never could." I looked at her shocked. "That's amazing Bri. I wish I had a place like this." She put her hand on my knee.
"Well, now you do. With me." I put my arm around her. It was cold so I tried to stay as close as I could as we gazed at the visible stars.
"Bri?"
"Yeah?"
"What would you say to uhm like a date or something like that?"
She laughed
"We've had a date before, it's not that unheard of."
"When was this?!"
She laughed again.
"That time we went to Taco Bell, remember?"
I put my other hand on her knee.
"You consider that a date?"
"What? You don't?" She said with a fake push.
"Well not like how I want it to be. I want it to be me and you. Alone. At a nice restaurant or calm beach area. Then, dancing. To something like uh Elvis, something smooth like him. And ending the night like a typical James Dean movie." She laughed.
"I guess that sounds good Joseph, that sounds really good."
