IN REAL LIFE.
it was currently 2am and jules was fast asleep. alaina, on the other hand, was having trouble sleeping. the 3 melatonin pills she took earlier didn't seem to help her in any way. for the past few days, her insomnia has been keeping her up more than she would have liked.
during her time in rehab, her insomnia was the least of her problems. having practically zero thoughts and contact with the outside world made it easier for her fall for asleep. but now, with the events of the past week, her insomnia has came back to bother her.
alaina stared at the ceiling of her room, as she began counting imaginary sheeps. this was something her mother taught her when she was growing up. however, alaina was interrupted by the buzzing of her phone. annoyed by the interruption, alaina rolled her eyes and switched on her phone.
her eyes widened as she sat up in shock. the notification read:

alaina stared at the notification as she debated on whether she should open it. after a few minutes of hesitation, she eventually gave in and decided to answer his message.
"i really should change that photo" alaina thought to herself as she stared at his contact.
