Newsie Parents (Modern)

What kind of parents are the newsies?

Jack

He is kinda relaxed as a parent. Though because he's grown up looking out for others he does protect his kids a lot of the time. He usually jokes around and it upsets him when he needs to be serious at times.

He teaches his kids to express their talents as much as possible. Because he HATES wasted talent.

He kinda wants them to love art so.....lots of trips to art museums!

I feel like Jack would also give really good advice about life. So his children are open to ask lots of questions.

Also ....if you hurt his kids...run.

Katherine

The coolest mum around. She will make you do homework but after give you cookies and cake.

Like she's so calming and goofy to hang around.

Kinda more strict than Jack but still loveable.

Makes her kids grow up with all the shows she grew up watching. She also wants to give them some freedom as Mr Pulitzer was quite a strict father.

She also wants to spend lots of time with them. 1 Because she felt quite alone when her dad was at work 2 She wants to be the best mum like her mum was :)

Also would take a mini van and take everyone to festivals/parades.

Like she gets so excited about pride month :))

Crutchie

The sweetest dad. He kinda gets a bit upset when he has to say no to his kids.

Makes his kids smile 24/7

He his strict on homework but that's probably it. He is very enthusiastic about education.

Also Crutchie takes lots of photos for memories and makes different scrap books for them.

He wants to spent happy moments with his kids because he never thought he would have any....

He and Davey organise newsie events/ playdates with everyone.

Like when it's the newsie game nights he gets sad leaving his kids. Even when their teens.

Kinda worried his kids will grow up not wanting him :((

WE L U V  U CRUTCH!!!

Race

...crazy?

Like he LOVES his kids.

But like will do crazy things.

Like he would go on roller coasters with them, start car races, teach them about gambling.

He likes teaching his kids new skills. Like at least once a day he will tell them a fact or teach them a trick.

(I will go into it but I have a story arch thing were he cares "more" towards Maria than Ben. But that will be across different stories)

He also probably forgets a lot of things as well.

I think he worries at times he's not a good dad. He tries his best to make sure his kids have an amazing childhood.

Also lots of road trips. Random road trips.

Davey

Very caring.

Like he asks "Are you ok?" to his kids at least three times a day.

Always reads them bedtime stories :)

He makes sure to let them know if they're too stressed they need to take a break.

Always loved having long discussions with his kids.

Also wants all the newsies kids to hang out.

Also I feel like Les is like the cool uncle. So Davey gets annoyed when his kids does silly/crazy things with him.

Albert

Albert was stressed at first. Like he had no idea what kinda of dad he would be. But it all ended well :)

You would think he's crazy (which at times he is) but really is a calm person.

Just loves hanging out with his kids.

He teaches them all the tricks he learnt growing up and encourages them to pull pranks. Especially on Race...

Romeo

Kinda like a sweet goofy parent.

Doesn't mind if they get in trouble sometimes.

Lets them do things they want to do (but not too crazy kinda thing)

Always tries to keep them happy.

Also loves teaching about his kids about differences between others but we're still all loved.

Also gives tips about high school kinda stuff.....most of the things don't work.

Always makes sure his kids know their worth.

Spot

Very protective. Like you hurt his kid you're dead.

I feel like he's gone through a lot so he's worried something will happen to his kid. Like he doesn't want them to see the bad things in life.

He helps with homework. Once a week they go to a cafe to do work or something.

Strict parent...though not..?

Like kids get jealous because Spot's kids get lots of things/get to do things. But when they're in trouble.....man they're in trouble.
