cat fight - nct, markhyuck

"why are you looking at me like that?" donghyuck asked mark. "i told you i weren't interested in those cats. they're only friends."

mark, jisung and donghyuck had gotten back to their houses after the meeting with elizabeth.

it was late at night, so jisung was in his own house, and mark and donghyuck were in mark's room, both sitting on mark's bed.

when they were still at elizabeth's place, mark had somewhat had a little jealousy crisis seeing his hybrid playing with the other animals to the point he had obliged donghyuck to stay in his arms. donghyuck was rather happy, it meant mark was attached to him, but he had already told him thousands of times he didn't care about those animals. he just liked mark, and nobody else. 

"it's not that..." mark lowered his gaze.

"what is it then?" donghyuck asked, crawling towards mark on all fours like a feline.

mark caressed donghyuck's head before cupping his cheek and rubbing it with his thumb.

"what do you remember from your past life?" he asked, worry evident in his eyes.

donghyuck blinked, not really understanding the question. "i-i don't remember anything."

"do you want me to tell you?" mark looked right into the cat's eyes.

"do i have to know?"

"it can explain some of your reactions." mark told.

donghyuck thought for a second.

"don't tell me."

mark raised a brow. "are you sure?"

"i am living a happy life right now. i don't care whether my past one was hell. what's important is that my current one is the best it can be. i don't need to know what happened in the past."

mark smiled, pulling the boy towards him in a hug.

"you're a strong boy donghyuck."

the two boys stayed in that position for long minutes until mark heard small snores coming from the cat hybrid's mouth. he smiled, pulling out of the hug and laying the boy on the bed before preparing himself to go to bed.

five minutes after, the lights were switched off, and mark was lying under the covers, next to donghyuck, his arm wrapped around his waist and their legs tangled.

"good night kitten." he whispered in donghyuck's fluffy ear before dropping a chaste kiss on his forehead.

mark was woken up the next day by a pretty loud cough coming from the door of his room.

he hummed, thinking donghyuck wanted to ask for something, but feeling someone between his arms, he understood there was someone else in the room.

mark opened his eyes wide to find jeno in the doorway, looking at him with brows furrowed.

"so... i'm assuming this is the 'donghyuck' guy you were talking about..." he said, motioning towards the sleeping donghyuck.

"y-you're already here?" mark blurted out, pulling the covers up to hide donghyuck's body. if jeno saw donghyuck was a hybrid, he was screwed.

"yeah, it's almost 2 in the afternoon. i don't know what kinky shit you two are up to, but cat ears seriously?" jeno raised a brow.

mark cursed internally. so, he saw the ears.

"anyways, this means he likes you back, i guess. so, you're together i imagine."

"huh..." honestly, mark didn't know. donghyuck had told him he liked him, but they never talked about the kiss or being boyfriends or anything like that. plus, donghyuck isn't even human!

"you still won't tell jaemin and renjun? you're not going to make him leave by the window, are you?"jeno asked.

mark shrugged.

"anyway, do as you please, but move your ass, jeno and jaemin are hungry." jeno added before leaving. "oh, and!" he added opening the door again. "they were looking for haechan, don't you know where he is?"

"huh... i'll find him, don't worry."

"okay, thanks." jeno said before finally leaving. 

mark sighed, letting himself fall back onto the bed.

he had almost been busted. almost.

just on time, donghyuck's grip around his body tightened, signalling he was waking up. the cat-person opened his eyes and looked into mark's ones.

"hello mark." donghyuck said, putting his chin on mark's chest.

"hello my kitten." mark smiled, scratching the cat's ears making him mewl. "slept well?"

donghyuck nodded, cuddling more into the human's chest.

"you're beautiful, you know?" mark blurted out, looking at the hybrid.

donghyuck blushed, shyly hiding behind his hands.

"don't hide..." mark pushed his hands away. "i want to see your pretty face." he added, looking closely at donghyuck's features. "stunning." he mumbled.

"you know, jeno came while you were sleeping." mark told, making donghyuck panic. "he thought we had kinky sex because he saw your ears." he said, poking them which made donghyuck flush beet red. "aww! you're flustered!"

"shh! of course, i am!" donghyuck whined.

mark laughed. "you're too cute for my own good..." he said, engulfing the boy in a hug and kissing the top of his head. "we should go to the kitchen, jaemin and renjun were looking for you."

donghyuck nodded, taking the pack of cat food in the drawer of mark's nightstand. since the discovery of donghyuck being a hybrid, there were packs of cat food hidden a bit everywhere around the house to prevent any accident to happen.

donghyuck transformed into haechan and mark carried him to the living room, renjun and jaemin jumping on him immediately to take the cat from his arms, not letting mark kissing his head first.

"so, you did make him leave by the window..." jeno sighed desperately passing an arm around mark's shoulders. "what am i going to do with you...?"
