mark stayed glued inside the doorway, donghyuck hidden behind his back, as renjun was asking tons of questions about haechan at first and then, the boy he didn't know that mark had brought back home.

mark had completely forgotten that renjun would be back to their house. he thought that he would have been going to jaemin's or jeno's house after their date or whatever it was. but now that he thought about it, renjun had told him he would be back around five. and it was close to seven right now, and mark was back, as if nothing had happened, with a boy they didn't know, and haechan wasn't home. well, he couldn't be! he was with mark...

"mark!" renjun snapped his fingers in front of mark's eyes. "i'm talking to you."

"huh... yeah?" mark blinked nervously. behind him, donghyuck was gripping on his shirt, his little fists trembling in fear. he couldn't disappear miraculously and transform into a cat right now. that wasn't possible...

"i see you were at the mall." renjun pointed at the many shopping bags inside mark's hands. "who is that cute boy behind you?" he asked, peeking behind mark.

mark stepped aside to reveal a shy and trembling donghyuck, making renjun coo.

"aww...  he's wearing your clothes..." renjun clasped his hands together, looking at the boy with heart eyes.

mark put the shopping bags to the side before standing in front of his best friend.

"renjun, promise me you won't freak out and be mad, please." mark looked at his best friend with pleading eyes.

renjun looked at donghyuck before diverting his eyes to his best friend. "don't tell me he's some kid you found on the streets."

"what?" mark raised a brow. "no!"

"you kidnapped him?"

"are you crazy? i didn't!"

"your son?"

mark stayed silent, glaring at renjun.

"yeah, forget that."

"junnie, what's taking you so- oh! hi mark." jaemin said arriving in the room with jeno.

"i see you brought the boy..." jeno smirked at mark.

"aww! he's cute! who is he?" a third person arrived.

"chenle, lower your volume a bit please." renjun warned the boy.

chenle rolled his eyes. "sorry. who is this cute boy?" he whispered.

donghyuck was not beet red due to all the unwanted attention he was receiving.
