For the love of frost- 1
Love at first sight, only not at all (3rd Person)
She was sleeping curled up in a ball of blankets. It was only cool when Farrah had gone to sleep, but now the wind was extremely cold. As she twist and turned through the night, the wind picked up.
At around nine thirty, an even stronger gust of wind hit the house and her window burst open. Snow flew through open space and made it's way to her finally warm body. Her eyes flickered open and all she was able to see was her open window. "Damnit..." She reluctantly got up and quietly locked her window once again. She turned around and jumped when she made out a pale figure staring at her. "A..... A ghost?" She rubbed her eyes. The image became clearer and clearer. This revealed a teenage boy with pale skin and white hair in a royal blue hoodie. "Who.... who are you?" She gasped. The boy was more than good looking. Striking features that would make anyone swoon.
"Hey! You can see me?" He laughed.
The voice sounded so familiar to her. As if she had heard it every time she felt a gust of wind. "Yeah," She backed away. "You.... you're Jack Frost."
He snickered adorably, "Why yes i am, the one, the only."
"Uh.... hiyya?" She studied him curiously. "Hey, i've seen you before. Last week downtown, i saw you playing outside in the snow."
"Yeah, and you're Farrah. You're always cold and never get into snow ball fights." He took a seat on her floor. Farrah sat on the ledge trying to be casual but failed. "What do you mean 'never get into snowball fights'?" He chuckled, "You're always indoors when it snows, from what i can tell. And when you're outside you don't have any fun!" She folded her arms, "What does this guy know?" she thought.
"I can have fun in the snow!"
He laughed, "Oh yeah, prove it!"
"How am I suppose to?"
He grabbed her hand and lead her out the window. "I've got time to waste, why not now?"
Her face turned red. His hand was freezing cold and yet extremely comforting. "Uh... at least let me change!" He let go, "okay."
She made him turn towards the window as she changed her sleeping pants to jeans. "Nice baby blue undies." He snickered to himself, able to see the reflection in the mirror. "Gosh! you perve!" She through a stuffed animal at his head. "Hey! Is that anyway to treat a guardian!" he ran his hand through his snow white hair. She laughed, "Guardian of what, girls underpants?" A faint blush arose from his pale skin. "Wow, for a stick in the mud, you've got jokes."
She rolled her eyes and slid on her boots. "Done." He whipped around sending a cold breeze into her face, the only part of her body not completely covered. He grabbed her hand and opened the window. The moon reflected on his eyes, making them sparkle charmingly.
Farrah was caught off guard when a just of wind lifted them off the ground and into the sky. The cold air rushed through her long brown hair and the water from the snow woke her up. They soared through the sky until they found an empty park covered to the brim with snow. They landed safely. "Wow, Jack... I mean, Mr. Frost, that was....." She paused, he was smirking as if saying, 'I knew it'. She stopped and did a 180 degrees. She looked around and then back at him.
Simultaneously, he threw a snowball directly at her chest. Her eyes widened with fear, then narrowed as she wiped off the snow. "See, no fun." He teased. Her hands clenched into a fist and she folded her arms. She could her the wind whisper "no fun" around her.
She became miffed and grabbed a fistful of snow and chucked it at Frost's face. It pounded onto his face and made his flinch a few inches back. Farrah looked at him in disbelief. "I am so sorry." She found herself giggling, even though she was trying not to. She thought Jack would be angry with her, that was the normal reaction in her mind to a face full of snow. Instead he laughed and threw snow back at her. They went back and forth happily and mercilessly.
Around eleven, they took a break. Farrah and Jack sat on the swings and slowly swung back and forth. "See, i told you i can have fun in the snow," Farrah laughed gleefully feeling accomplished. "Yeah, you've got quite the arm. I'm impressed."
Farrah's face became warm. She hid it in her scarf. "You aren't too bad yourself Frost."
He punched her shoulder, "Heck yes i'm not."
They laughed for hours, even though they had just formally met, they felt like they'd known each other for years upon years. They talked and talked, the way you would with an old friend.
At around two am, they started to head home. Another gust of wind came and swept her off her feet along with Jack. As they joyfully traveled through the cool breeze Jack couldn't help but keep his gaze locked on her. She blushed, not sure if she was happy or just being bashful. Before she knew it they we sitting on top of her roof.
"Hey Farrah, how do you trust me so much?"
"I don't know," She lied back on the frosty black roofing. "I guess i feel like i've known you forever."
"Why do you have to be so cute?" He mumbled under his breath, looking away. "Huh?" Farrah sat up.
"It's nothing." He looked away from her, knowing even though he found this girl amazing, they'd never be together.
"Dude!" She moved closer to him, opening up to him even more. "What is it?"
They fell silent for a few minutes. Neither moving, nor speaking. "Farrah," He whispered turning around to look at her. Their noses were millimeters away from touching. Farrah closed her eyes and enjoyed the cool atmosphere Jack had. "Jack, can you visit often? I know, probably not the summer but.... no one would mind a little bit of frost on their windows during February."
He chuckled, "Well Christmas is in a few weeks. I REALLY don't think people will mind a little frost here and there around then."
Farrah smiled, satisfied.
"I'll visit when i can."
They both sat up, Jack held Farrah's chin in his fingers and leaned in. When their lips met, there was a cool rush. He allowed his hands to fall onto the the roofing. Causing his floral like frost to appear.
When they separated, Farrah's lips were blue. Jack laughed through his nose, "You should go inside. I'll see you then." He drew a smile in the frost on her window.
Farrah hugged him tightly and then climbed through the window. "Bye Jack, I look forward to playing in the snow." They waved again and she shut the window and waited until he left to fall into her bed.
