Gathering

Minho stepped into the council hall. He was the last one, who arrived so the Gathering could start now.
Alby began.

"Okay, I think we all know, why we're having this Gathering. For the ones who don't know: Our new Greenie can't heare and we will have a very big problems with him."

Although it wasn't Minho's time to speak he did it. He wanted to defend Newt. "Greenie isn't a problem! I talked to him since I'm back from the Map Room. He is just like us. A confused boy without memories. As long as we look at him, when we're speaking, he knows what we're talking about."

"Thanks for your opinion Minho, but Alby wasn't finished yet." Nick said. Minho snorted but shut up.

Alby nodded in Nick's direction and continued. "How Minho without permission said, Greenie is able to communicate with us. But what if we have an emergency and he's in the Dead Heads? He wouldn't hear us! And what kind of job shall he do? We can't correct him immediately when he does a mistake!"

Minho opened his mouth to say something but Alby cut him off before he even had a chance. "Slim it, Minho. This is a Gathering and you can speak when it's your turn.
Now, Fry, what would you say? What shall we do with him?"

"I say he should get a chance in every job. Just because it could be a little bit more difficult to explain them to him doesn't mean he can't do them. He deserves a chance."

After him came Winston.
"He should be Slopper. There he can't make anything wrong."

Zart's turn.
"I would take him. It isn't hard to learn the things for planting.
But what I actually wanted to say is that just because he's deaf doesn't mean that he's useless and has to be a Slopper. He should get a chance like all of us."

Minho agreed with him in his head. Who knew what Newt did before he got here? Maybe he had had a student job or had helped his parents in the garden or had even gone to a normal school. Which probably wasn't the case but nobody knew it.

After almost every Keeper said their opinion. It weren't a lot Keepers therefore that they have been there just for 8 months now and were just 23 and hadn't a Keeper for every job. A few of them were Keepers for more than one job.

The most had said that Newt should do a job, which wasn't hard, that he should be a Slopper or that he should go in the Maze to "find and learn the rules", which weren't of course there and that they would just say that so Newt wouldn't know that they actually wanted to get him away.

But now it was Minho's turn.
"I won't agree with the ones, who say that he shall die or be a Slopper! He already proofed that he can understand us and talk! What do you want more from a deaf boy?! You probably wouldn't know that he's deaf when he didn't panicked at the beginning and ran in the Maze! He's just a victim of the creators like all of us! He's in nothing different than we. The creators'll have a reason to send us AND him in here! They have had to see his talent in whatever to send him in here! They wouldn't send him in here to die! He shouldn't be threaten different! He's still just a boy, who doesn't know what's going on!"

Alby and Nick looked at each other. "Minho has a point.", said Nick. "The creators will have their reasons to send him up here. " "Maybe they just wanted to get rip off of him. I would understand" Said Winston, which caused Minho a lot of self control to not punch his acne face.

"I still don't know what I shall think. Maybe they have a reason maybe they don't." Alby spoke out what he thought. "And I still don't like the fact that he's deaf. But that isn't a reason to kill him. I suggest that he decides himself which job he would like to try. Who's with me?"

Almost every Keeper rose his hand. Minho did it too. He thought it was fair. But as soon as he went to Newt and told him the news he wasn't that happy anymore. Because Newt wanted to try to be a Runner.

AN:Hey, sorry for not posting. I know it has been a long time since I updated and my only excuse is that I write a book in my own back in my house. It's the only thing I can say. I wrote a lot on it and school has started again too. So yeah, I'm sorry.  I spend and will spend a lot of time with my book.
