(I don't think i mentioned it but the season is winter and it's near Christmas in the story.)
Rayne had just got her mom from the hospital and settled back into her usual spot in the living room. It had been about a week since she'd last hung out with Motionless In White, she talked to them everyday. Well one of them every day. It was Ricky, she didn't really know what it was about him, she thought he hated her, maybe he did and he was just talking to her out of pity. Little did she know that he thought the same about her, he didn't know why she put so much time into him. He wasn't interesting in his eyes he was just him. It was funny because as he was thinking those thoughts, Rayne was thinking similar ones. She didn't understand why the guy that seemed to hate her the most wanted her attention. Maybe it was the rest of the guys making him talk to her. She couldn't quite figure it out but she really didn't want to. Especially since today she was hanging out with them again.
Rayne covered her mom up with a thick blanket and sat the television remote near. "I'll only be gone for a couple of hours." She said loudly to her brother that was in the kitchen. "Alright, just go and have fun." He said as he walked in. Rayne sighed and nodded, as much as she didn't like leaving her brother alone with their ill mother, she had to for the sake of her sanity. She walked past a mirror in the living room and checked her outfit and makeup. She simply brushed a hair behind her ear and turned to leave the house. She walked out Into the cool winter air with her arms wrapped around her. She got to her car in a hurry and stuck the key in the ignition as soon as she sat in the drivers seat. After sitting there for a minute to let the car heat up she pulled out of her driveway and headed over to Chris and Ricky's house where the rest of the band was waiting for her arrival. She followed her phones GPS commands and finally pulled into a short driveway leading to a small house. She got out of her car and walked up to the door lightly knocking on the door listening closely for foot steps.
Ricky walked to the door opening it with a smile and letting Rayne in. "Everyone's in the living room. It's to the left." He said closing the door. Rayne walked into the living room seeing everyone sitting in random places with Mario-kart on the TV paused. "Whose playing against who?" Rayne asked as she took a seat next to Chris on the couch. "Me against Ghost." Ricky said as he walked in and plopped him self next to Rayne picking up the controller and resuming the game in the process. An hour had passed and everyone was laughing and having a great time. Rayne was leaning into Ricky and he had his arm draped over her shoulders, it was a friendly gesture to the both of them, but everyone around them knew differently. "Have you seen our "cops" episode?" Balz asked putting quotations around the word cops. "No?" Rayne said in the form of a question with a giggle. "If you show her you all die." Ricky said. Rayn sat up and looked at him, "Well you know now i just have to see it." Ricky sighed.
"That was fucking hilarious!" Rayne said red in the face from laughing. "Have you guys considered recording videos again?" She asked them all as a whole. "Not really, I guess as we got busier it just slipped our minds." Chris answered. "Well When you guys are around me and something funny or cool goes down i'll be recording." Rayne said with a smile. "Well...Actually we have a question and it involves you being around us a lot." Ricky said Rayne turned to him suddenly interested, "Okay well ask me!" "We don't have a merch girl..and well since we know you...we were thinking of bringing you on tour...For this job of course and because you're our friend." Chris told her. "So you're asking me if i want to?" she said smiling. "Yes, will you?" Ricky said slipping his arms around her waist and resting his head on her shoulder. Not wanting to say no Rayne smiled and agreed, of course the thought of her mother popped up in her mind but maybe it was time for them to hire a nurse. With a fake smile she leaned back into Ricky's side. She wasn't really sure how her Brother and mom would react to her decision, but she was sure it was right one. Well that's what she hoped at least.
Rayn walked into her house quietly and made her way up to her room. She was still thinking about how she was going to tell her mom and brother about tour. The guys informed her it's a week from now, so she'd have to do it soon. Sooner the better anyway right? She was just excited to be going somewhere out of boring Scranton, Pennsylvania.
The next day Rayne decided she was going to tell her mom and brother about her new "job". She slipped on a Supernatural jumper and walked down stairs. Luckily both her brother and mom were in the living room awake. "Hey." She said grabbing their attention. "Hey sweetie." her mom said. Rayne sat down and sighed, "I have to tell you both something and it's big." Her moms expression turned worried her brothers just looked confused. "Last night Motionless In White invited me on tour to sell merch for them." She blurted it out treating it like a band-aid. "Well I sure hope you said no." Her mom said in a disapproving tone. "Well mom, I didn't I said yes." that's when her brother stepped in. "What? Why? Well I mean i don't blame you but still! I need you here to help!" Rayne sighed and looked at her brother. "I'm going to hire a nurse you won't even have to take care of her anymore." "You talk about me like i'm not even here, Rayne this is completely and utterly selfish of you." Rayne laughed, "Oh really? Mom lets take a little walk down memory lane. When dad died you didn't go to his funeral because you had reservations in fucking Florida for a Cruise! You've been selfish many more times before that too! My decision to go isn't selfish." Taken back by what her daughter had said Rayne's mother thought for a minute before speaking, "Just leave now then." Rayne shook her head and left the room to back some things to spend the night at Chris and Ricky's."Rayne she didn't mean it!" Trent said following his sister around her room as she packed a bag. "Trent, that woman has been nothing but a bitch to me my whole life up until dad passed away! She's resented me ever since i was born because dad gave me more attention. She's fucking crazy. I need to leave, i need my space okay?" Trent sighed and nodded holding back tears, he loved his sister and didn't like living without her to talk face to face. He kind of needed her to stay sane. "You'll be back right?" He asked with a shaky voice. "Of course." Rayne said before leaving her room and the house. Rayne finally made it to Chris and Ricky's place with tears now running down her face. It was moments like these when she wished her dad was still here. Realizing the guys would ask her what was wrong if she looked like she was crying, she pulled out her car makeup kit and started hiding the redness. When she thought she looked presentable she got out of the car and walked up to the front door taking a deep breath before knocking. "Rayne?" Chris asked tiredly. "Uhm hey sorry if i woke you.. I just had an argument with my brother. I kinda just need my space away from him.." It wasn't a complete lie she just changed her mom to her brother. Part of her wished she'd just tell them the truth but another part screamed at her every time she tried. "Oh okay Ricky's awake in his room. Fuckin weird-o being awake all early." Chris said while stepping aside to let her in. "I guess i count as being a weird-o for waking up early." Rayne laughed. Chris laughed too, "Yeah you do, his room is right through the hallway first door on the right." Rayne nodded and walked through reaching the door and lightly knocking. "It's open." Ricky said sounding muffled because of the walls. Rayne opened the door to see Ricky looking at her confused. "Hey, do you always come over your friends houses at Eight in the morning on a saturday?" He said jokingly. Rayne laughed a little and shook her head, "No my brother and I had a disagreement. I just need space away from him." Ricky nodded and patted the space next to him on his bed. "Well you know you can always come over in early hours of the morning and wake up Chris when you need to talk. I'll always be awake reading." Rayne smiled a little. "He classifies us as weird-o's for being awake." Ricky laughed, "Well i wouldn't call myself a weird-o i mean at least I get dressed in the morning." Ricky laughed pointing out the fact Rayne was in her pajamas. "I didn't have time to change!" Rayne said giggling a bit.Ricky laid back on his bed and sighed happily, Rayne followed him. "The ceiling is beautiful Ricky, i see why you sighed happily when you saw it." she said making him laugh. "That's not why i sighed." Rayne looked over at him, "Why'd you sigh?" Ricky shook his head and smiled making Ranye look at him with confusion.
"You'll find out soon enough." He whispered.
