Can't fight fate

After she finished playing Go with Zhe Yan Fengjiu decided to have a fun escapade running wild in the forest that was bordering Qingqiu. The forest was mirroring Qingqiu's border with the Demon Land. Fengjiu has been there plenty of times and she knew the forest pretty well but she was told not to get too close to the border as the Demon clan was hostile.

She didn't pay much attention to her surroundings as she was playing a game of seeing how faster she can run and trying to surpass an old record. The forest was getting darker and quieter, broken branches were laying everywhere. Everything seemed deserted. She slowed down and she started walking very careful as everything was unfamiliar to her. How did she get here? She must've gotten lost at some point. The air was also chilly and there were some sort of noises about half a mile away. She was probably very close to the Demon Land. She has to get out of this forest right now before the demons attack her.

She was really panicking right now and her breathing accelerated. She try to calm herself down by taking big breaths and tries to look around to find a path to run towards. A path that will take her far from this place and back to the cave. While she was thinking she walked backwards to try and put some more distance between herself and where the noises were coming from.

Branches cracked underneath her foot and she jumped in fear. That was it she had to make a run for it. Only a couple of steps and she stumbled on something hard, she heard a rope running up the tree as she fell into a soft pile of leaves. Unfortunately the pile of leaves didn't stop her body from free falling. It went down deeper until she felt the soil underneath her check. A hissing surrounded her from all directions. Now she was down right scared. What can it be? I hope not snakes! In a panic she lighted a glow sphere and looked around. Snakes were crawling everywhere.
-This is it! These is the end! Help! Help! Please someone help me!!

Dijun was just returning from Qogir mountain where he was searching for some very rare herbs to compliment his personal pharmacy. He traveled to great lengths for these herbs as their properties were immeasurable. He knew even Zhe Yan didn't have them. That made him happy. Competing with him for so many years was never boring and he enjoyed so much winning. He was well acquainted with his murderous look everytime Dijun proved to have something he didn't have.

Ah Zhe Yan! He had the pleasure to already meet his Fengjiu. She will celebrate her 17,000 birthday in a week. It wasn't long now until their engagement will be announced. He will only have to endure just 1,000 years to finally meet her. He wondered if she was beautiful. He didn't particularly like coquettish women and she hoped she wouldn't be one of them. Even if she was, but he highly doubted because of the way Bai women carried themselves, he will still find a way to accommodate to her demeanor.

He was cloud jumping back to the nine heavens and he wasn't rushing it.
As his mind trailed off imagining different version of Fengjiu he hear from somewhere down below a very faint "Help". Someone was in trouble. Hmm is not my style to get involved. I am sure someone else heard it and they will intervene. He stopped on a cloud and tried to listen closer. He used his cultivation to get a track of the immortal that was in trouble. There was a child that hasn't ascended to immortal yet. The child's life was in danger. He also searched the surroundings and there was no one else around. He realized he was above the Demon land border. The demons will never allow that child to live. He had to do something.

He decided to descend and landed just by the hole trap where the screams of help were coming from.
-Help! Help! Please someone! The snakes are going to bite me! I can't last any longer!
Snakes? What snakes? The demons must have set the trap. He quickly conjures a strong wind inside the snakes hole and blew Fengjiu up in the air. Dijun jumped after her to catch her in mid air. She was so scared that she grabbed him with both hands by the shoulders and squeeze her fists tightly around his garments. Dijun put a hand around her waist and brought her as close as possible to him to steady her.

When he felt how she was holding his clothes he press his fingers into her hip to grab her tighter and he put his other hand on her cheek. With his thumb he wiped her running tears and he whisper to her while their faces were very close to each other.
-Don't worry! I am here now. Nobody is going to hurt you. Shhh little girl. Shhh. Don't cry.
Fengjiu's eyes were shut tight. Dijun's face was so close that their breaths were rolling on each other's faces.
-Open your eyes! There are no more snakes! Have a look for yourself. Trust me.
She slowly opened her eyes and she met his big, beautiful brown eyes examining her face. Their eyes locked instantly. They felt lost in each other's eye depth. What was happening? Fengjiu calmed herself completely and in the quietness of her heart she felt a strange warmth in her chest. One, two, three.

Dijun was the first one to break from the spell. He lowered them down on the ground, took his hands off of her as it wasn't appropriate and asked her:
-Who are you? Why do you come to the snakes grounds if you are scared of them?

She shook her head to recover from the spell. She released his clothes from her small fists and when she was just about to answer warning attack shouts were approaching them. The demons were attacking. Dijun quickly reacted and told her to go back to her house. She didn't hesitated and run as fast as she could. She didn't wanted to leave but getting hurt was not an option especially after the snakes fright. Plus she didn't had a weapon. The school will only award them a sword when they graduated. And at home she was only allowed to use the sword for practice so she won't hurt herself. As she was getting further away from the fight she could hear the clinking sound of the metal swords.
