Good news come in pair

Fengjiu woke up very early in the morning at the crack of dawn. She summoned Cha Cha to help her dress and they both moved to the kitchen to prepare a delicious breakfast for her and Dijun. She asked Zhong Li to prepare a table next to the lotus pond and gave instructions for them not to be disturbed. For breakfast she prepared congee, sorrow less cake, fruits and a delicious punch of elderflower. When everything was ready she asked Zhong Li to invite Dijun to the lotus pond.

Dijun had a horrible night. He hasn't slept at all. Usually he will be outside already reading and enjoying a cup of tea but he was so overwhelmed with sadness that he couldn't find it in himself to leave the room. He was surprised when someone knocked the door.
-Yes?
-Dijun I came to let you know breakfast is ready for you at the lotus pond.
-Lotus pond? I don't feel like having any breakfast..
-Her highness has prepared everything and she is waiting for you there.

Dijun couldn't believe his ears. Was is true or had he fallen asleep and now he was dreaming? He couldn't contain his excitement. She is not mad anymore!! He dismisses Zhong Li and he started getting ready. He had never been ready quicker than that morning. When he touched the door handle he took a deep breath to pace himself. He was ready to run to her but he didn't wanted her to see how much she affected him. He wasn't sure this invitation will necessarily be a good thing but at least she was willing to talk to him and he could be very convincing if he wanted to.

Whilst walking to the lotus pond, he was still lost in his thoughts trying to prepare solutions for anything she might throw at him. He saw her sitting down looking at him, waiting for him to approach the place where she was sitting. All the beautiful colours of the food, the fruits and the vase full of flowers contrasted with her gorgeous face. She had rosy pink cheeks, dark eyes surrounded by think black eyelashes, her hair was braided on the top and then falling freely on her back all the way to her waist. And then his eyes rested on her well defined bright pink lips. He got lost for a minute remember their taste.

She waved her hand inviting him to sit opposite her. As soon as he sat she said:
-Dong Hua.. I would like us to talk. So I have prepared this breakfast for us to enjoy and have an amiable conversation. What do you think?
He just nodded. He wanted her to start talking first. Problem was he couldn't put anything in his mouth. The stress was making him itchy.
-So how did you sleep? She finally said.
-So and so. You?
-To be honest I couldn't really sleep. Maybe I dozed off a couple of minutes towards the morning.
My Xiaobai was in the same situation like me. So she does care..

She noticed he wasn't touching anything so she took a grape to his lips. He tried to take it with his lips without touching her but he ended up sucking her fingers. A shiver crossed her spine and she felt her belly getting warm. She quickly withdrew her hand and lowered her eyes. He didn't take his eyes from her for one single minute. When she looked down he thought he might lose her again so he decided to say something after all.

-Please don't shy from me. I am your husband.
-Do you have any idea of the effect you have in me?
He couldn't believe his ears.
She looked him in the eyes intently. He thought to himself I could lose myself in the depths of those eyes.
-Xiaobai... I didn't know you feel this way about me. I thought I am indifferent to you. Plus yesterday when I said... when I said I love you ...you didn't said it back...
-Well...you are the only man I have ever been with...I have never been in love before and I don't know how love it supposed to feel. I am sure though that I like you very much and you are the only thing I am thinking about all day...and night. She said as she felt her cheeks getting red. But Dong Hua...do you really love me?
-With all my being!!
-Ohhh....And how did you know?
-I knew it the moment I laid my eyes on you. That time in the forest when I saved your life...My heart just stopped! You were the most beautiful woman I have seen in my long existence and trust me I have seen many!
