Author's note: I apologize for the delay. I know I said I'll post yesterday but the inspiration was just pouring in. The chapter is quite long but I couldn't help myself. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

It was just before 9 o'clock when it was announced the couple will retire to meet the auspicious hour.
Outside, the wedding entourage led by Zhong Li, and followed by servant maids and guards were ready to escort the newlyweds back to Thai Chen Palace for their wedding night.

At the front Dijun and Fengjiu were walking side by side. Fengjiu had her red veil on. As they were walking everyone they met were bowing and paying their respects. When they reached Thai Chen Palace the guards remained at the main door and the servant maids dispersed somewhere inside the palace.

They walked further to the bedroom followed only by Zhong Li and Cha Cha. As soon as they entered Fengjiu was led to the bed to sit. Cha Cha was holding a pillow with the revealing stick on top. Dijun took it and lift up her veil. Both servants bowed to the floor and wish them a happy marriage. Then Cha Cha took the stick and the veil and went outside and Zhong Li closed the door behind them.

Dijun turned around and headed to a table where the ceremonial tastings were laid and poured himself a bit of water.

Fengjiu remained seated an looked around the room. It was a very large room, much larger than their reception room at the fox cave. As soon as you enter and pass the doors there were two steps. On the right hand side was placed a tall wedding table. Next to it in the corner, there was a low table with pillow seats, surrounded by white and purple drapery hanging from the ceiling. After, there was a white door. Following the door in the other corner it was a very tidy golden desk with a dais.

And then there was the bed where she was sitting. Huge bed. A few people could fit in there. On each side of the bed there were two golden doors, both closed. On the left hand side of the door, in a corner on a stand was a vase with pink and white flowers. She smiled. Surely that was placed there for her.

She stand up. Dijun turned around.
-Do you want to do the wedding rituals?
-Mmmm..no. I don't really care about formalities and ceremonies. Unless...you want to?
-Oh no no. I don't care for it either.
-But I would take some water.
-Of course!

He started pouring a cup for her with shaky hands. He was obviously nervous. She walked slowly to where he was standing and stopped within a hand's reach. Closer will be dangerous. When he turned to give her the water his eyes fell on her red lips. She looked to her left and then turned her face back to him.
-Do you like it?
-Hmm...what?
-The lipstick?
Dijun swallowed.
-I don't particularly like the color. But right now, in this moment, it looks very...appealing.
She smiled again, took the water and drank it.

-Shall I help you take off your head piece? It seems heavy.
-Do you mind?
-Not at all.
Dijun took them off one by one and placed them on the table. Her hair fell undone in cascades hanging at her waist. It was raven black and contrasted with the color of her lips even more. He left his hands drop but keep looking at her beautiful face, studying every inch of it. She was sitting so close. He was worried if he makes the wrong move he might scare her. She seemed at ease until now.

Except for a few smiles she had offered him, which might have been out of politeness her face wasn't showing much. He was desperately looking for some guidance. He wasn't sure what she was thinking. So he decided is better if they talked for now.

-So I have something to say to you.
-Oh?
-I want you to know I am willing to wait for as long as is necessary. Until you feel you are ready. I also know that this is a new and unfamiliar place for you and it might be difficult to adjust, especially sleeping in bed with someone else.
