There was no reason for me to be so incredibly bothered with the fact that Rohan was involved with Amber. Sure, Rohan gets on my nerves more than anyone in the group but the truth is I don't want to see him get hurt. I just feel like if he's putting himself in a situation with Amber he's going to get hurt. There's no way she's possibly changed over night. She couldn't have.
"Anna." I looked over to Jake who was playing his life away on his PlayStation. "You're phones going off." I'd heard it, just assumed it was his. I never message or call anyone but Jake unless we're in our group chat with the others.
I picked up the phone and looked on the screen, Zach's name was stretched across an iMessage notification.
Zach Rivers: Anna, Rohan is planning on Amber helping us sell tickets tomorrow. Then help at the movie Saturday as well. I've tried talking to him I just don't see it helping.
I don't see a reason for her to help us. She's probably trying to sabotage our groups idea to make hers seem better. Unless her group didn't think of an idea in which case she's not putting her name on our fundraiser idea. She can help and that will be all.
Anna: well if he wants her to help us, fine. Avoid her. That's what I plan to do. Everyone knows exactly how she is. She's not changed in the matter of a summer. Impossible.
Zach: agreed. She's just not done anything to him yet and now she gets to.
Zach: hey anna?
Anna: what?
Zach: the guys and I are always so rude to you but you're like a very important piece of our group. We don't really mean the things we say to you sometimes.
He acts like I don't know this.
Anna: that's how we've always been Zach it's how we're going to be. It all works out and I don't take offense.
Zach: we shouldn't always be so rude to you though.
Anna: what are you getting at?
Zach: nothing Anna, goodnight
Anna: night.
That was the most strange conversation I've ever had with Zach. He always backs up the guys in things they say to me. I know they're all playing. If they were serious Jake would've stopped inviting them over long ago."Who was that?" Jake ask.
"Zach." He pauses his game and turned to look at me quizzically. "He was telling me Rohan plans on letting Amber help us with the fundraiser.
Jake snorted.
"Yeah she can help us. Help us and then go find Ally." He resumed his game but I could sense he had more to say. "Regardless why is Zach texting you out of the group?" I didn't know I was as confused as him. I had to make something up though.
"He didn't want Rohan to see and thought maybe I'd talk to him about it. I see no reason to talk to Rohan though. What he does is not any of my business. So I could not care less." that wasn't true. It wasn't my business but I do care. I don't want Rohan to get hurt.
"Rohan's a big boy and we've tried to explain how she is to him. He can figure it out on his own now." I nod my head and turn on the sectional to lay my head in his lap as he continues playing the game. "Anna you just got out the shower. Your hair is gonna make me look like I've pissed myself." I shrug my shoulders and reach for the blanket to cover up. He continued playing his game until I fell asleep.
The next morning I was in the guest room getting dressed when Jake knocked at the door. "Are you ready yet? Sarah made breakfast." I finished braiding my hair to the side and used my index finger to loosen a few strands on the other side. "Anna?!" I rolled my eyes and yanked the door open.
