I'd sat on our bed for forty five minutes, waiting on Zach to finish getting dressed. The problem is though, that Zach isn't trying to get dressed, he's on the phone. With whoever has his attention on the balcony. We came in from the pool two hours ago. I've already showered, dried my hair. Hell, I've applied a full face makeup after a facial. I slipped into my short red dress after putting on a very uncomfortable bra. The bra was made of metal and jewels, the dress was open enough to show part of the bra, it laid flat across my chest. I wanted to look great for our first romantic dinner on the boat.

Jake and Ally even agreed to eat as a couple at a separate table for tonight. Yet here I am, completely dressed..for him. Playing with the dangly ear rings I'm about to put in. While he's standing on the balcony in sweatpants and shirtless. Sure it's hot, of course it's hot. He's hot, I mean. He hasn't even showered yet though. Zach has not so much as looked at me since he stepped outside.

He wouldn't notice if I left without him. He hasn't noticed me all day, why would he start to notice now?

So that's exactly what I've just done. After shoving the crystal dangly ear rings in I grabbed my black wallet and walked out of our room. Ally and Jake were in separate rooms but directly across from one another. A safe move I knocked on her door, instead of his. "I'm coming!" I knocked again, pestering her.
"Jacob!" She yelled. "I said I am coming." The door yanked open to her trying to shove her foot into a silver heel.

"How would Jake feel about the government name you just used." She grabbed my arm and pulled me inside her room.

"Okay first of all darling.." she started as she fell into her recliner perched in front of the oblong mirror. "You wouldn't dare tell him, it was an accident anyways." She curled the last piece of her hair, opposite mine as I straightened it over an hour ago. "Secondly, you look so damn amazing!" The hair dropped into a loose curl as she turned in the seat. "Zach is going to literally drool." I walked across the room and sat on the edge of her bed as she rummaged through her lip gloss.

"He's not coming." Her head yanked around faster that I anticipated as her mouth fell open.

"What?!" She was very obviously annoyed.

"He's busy." I retaliated.

"Too busy for the romantic dinner you guys planned three months ago?" She nods her head.

"You'll just go to dinner with us." She winged her eyeliner. "What's his deal? What's he going to do? Stay in bed all damn night?" I laughed.

"No, he's busy with a phone call. Has been since we came back from the pool. He didn't see me get out of the shower, didn't see me get dressed..and didn't see me before I left." She rolled her eyes

"So for two hours he's been on the phone, ignored you and made no effort to get ready for the dinner that takes place in an hour?" A knock sounded at the door. "Get that for me, it's probably Jake."

Once I opened the door, Jake literally dropped his mouth open and stared at me for a few seconds. "I like your uhh..necklace?" He spoke first. A question or statement, I had no idea.

"It's a bra Jacob." Ally interfered.

"Damnit Ally." He shut the door quickly and I jumped before he knocked again. I opened it and he used his hands to sarcastically calm himself down. "Now let's try this again." He sighed. "Nice bra, Anna." He looked over to Ally. "Nice mascara Ally, it's uneven." I furrowed my brows and walked over to Ally as he found his way to the edge of her bed.

"Mascara?" I questioned, she too were confused.

"You know.." he motioned putting on eyeliner. "Mascara." He rolled his eyes. "Duh."

"Eyeliner, babe." I corrected.

"Uneven?!" Ally screeched. Jake nodded.

"Yep. Eyeliner. Uneven." He smirked. Then looked at her for a second. "Wait no.." he walked closer and knelt in front of her. "Oh, just a lazy eye." He patted her leg before standing up seconds before she chunked her brush at him.

"Asshole." She claimed.

"Correct." He confirmed.

"Is this what goes on all the time?" I was actually concerned for their mental health at this point.

"Yes, he's always such an ass." Ally was still glaring at Jake as he stole the water bottle from her bedside table.

"Usually your head is just stuck up Zachs ass." Jake stated. I could tell him that water bottle happens to be, toner. But I won't. "Where is he anyways?" He takes a swig from the bottle of toner before spitting it all on Ally's floor as I smiled.

"Not coming." He raised an eyebrow and I watched Ally give him a stern look through her mirror. I wished they didn't do this. Hide their statements to salvage my feelings.

"What?" Ally looked at me confused as Jake rolled his eyes, again.

"Zachs always like this. Standing you up. You're going to dinner with the two of us right? You look to darling not to go."

"She's going. She's my date." Ally let him know. He mouthed her words mocking her before throwing the now closed bottle of toner at me.

"That's for not telling me." I rubbed my arm where it hit and laughed. I wished we were always this playful, it was refreshing. Especially after stressing about Zach for two hours. Zach had a tendency to do this. Make me feel better when I was feeling like complete shit.

If only he could make me forget the pain of Zach, he wouldn't though. No one could.

The only way I'd forget the pain of Zach is to stop letting it get to me.

And one day, I'll learn how. One day when I'm not constantly wanting to be near him, even when he ignores me. Even when he fights with my best friend. Even when I gain my trust back for him for cheating on me. One day I'd realize that if I treat him the same way he's treated me for so long and I'd be able to move on from the pain. It could all just be in my head if I'm honest. I put more pressure on situations than I should, maybe I should trust him right now and assume he's on the phone with someone like his mother. Instead though I'm sitting in the room with my two best friends getting ready to go on what was supposed to be a romantic date with my boyfriend. All because I think, I assume and I hope I don't know he's on the phone with a girl. Lilly. I should let the past go, trust him. It's been so long. He's been so great. The thought always returns and he gives me reasons like today not to trust him.

It's so hard to get over this constant fear of him cheating, again.

"Ready babe?" Ally ask as she gets her purse from beside the door.
