Chapter two - Not going to keep reminding you that the chapters are really short.
I am almost halfway home, and I can hear footsteps and breathing behind me. The footsteps are in sync with mine, and he's breathing slowly. I'm too scared to look behind me, but it's too late when he grabs my shoulder. I try to scream but nothing comes out.
"Chill." He says. His voice is deep and he's at least 6 feet tall - a good 6 inches taller than me. He continues, "I know you took my money. Hand it over and I promise to leave you alone."
This is where my great acting skills come in. "I'm so sorry, I got myself into trouble and the guys will murder me if I don't hand over a thousand dollars by tomorrow. I had to.... please understand." I fake sob.
He looks suspicious, but he smiles. "Okay, you can have it, but you have to do a little something to earn it."
Oh crap. I know what's coming. I keep a chilled-out face and I decide to do it. I really need the money, so I sigh and respond, "It's a deal. You better let me stay overnight though."
He puts out his hand and says, "The name's Jaylen. Let's go."
"Skye." I nod, get in his car and we're off.
